AESPIA POV

The sounds of the plate clicking against each other made me feel so uncomfortable, maybe because it was something I was not used to. My food I had were not in such wealthy looking plates and I never got to eat at such tables as well.

My eyes were glued to the kind of food that was on the table, yeah, the Alpha King was some wealthy man, very wealthy and made sure he spelt that out with luxury.

" I am sure you are not used to this," Cara said.

I have tried avoiding her all day. The task she kept for me to do, I never did any, I stood up to her and told her that I was never going to do it.

It was never enough, she would come back again and again to make sure I am unhappy or regretting my existence.

I flashed her a smile.

" I'm sure it was not your life as well, you only began to enjoy these things because you got here and you now live in this place" I fired back at her.

She paused.

Her eyes went to me, those eyes that sent stares like arrows to me. I was ready to keep up with the looking contest.

" You should know your place, little child," she scoffed.

Little child?

I was not a little child, I was a grown ass woman that was just affected by poor circumstances.

The food was brought to me and I dished my hands into the plate to have a taste of it. I did that and had my mouth going from one side to the other.

It tasted good. I have never had to taste something this good before.

" You look so hungry, what have you been eating all your life? It is such a pity that I get to witness this" she shook her head.

It did not stop me from having the good food that had been prepared. I could swear that Enzo's maids were bad cooks who knew nothing but to set me up so I could be punished.

After I was done eating. I was eager to go around the place, feeding my eyes with the beauty of the place I was. It was a lovely place and I could not just sit in the confinement of my bedroom all day.

My legs wandered about the place, I had no idea where I was going as I knew nothing about the house I was in.

Life has taken a different turn for me and I was going to go with it.

My mind went to Enzo, he did not bother searching for me to know if I was okay, he won't even bother. This was someone who confessed love to me, and now, the love was gone, and it left me wondering if there was love in the first place.

My eyes went about the place, it was big and had beating things to look at.

" Good day" one of the guards greeted me, his head bowed as he did that.

I was never expecting it, my heart jumped for a second.

Enzo had told the guards and the maids not to regard me, I was the perfect wife when there was a ceremony and a gathering, but inside the house were loads of disrespect given to me by the maids and the guards.

I nodded my head and swallowed, this was a new reality for me and I was to start getting used to being respected.

" Aespia, the Luna calls for you" one of the maids said, her head bowed to the floor as she spoke.

She looked different, I have not seen her before, she was different from the other maids that almost killed me.

" Okay" I said.

She led the way and I followed her to where Cara was.

While we were still on our way, the realization hit me, I was going to meet Cara. The amusement from seeing the environment had made me forget who Cara was and how I needed to be careful around the place to avoid anything that would get me killed.

I walked into a large room, like a hall. It had a lot of decorations around it. My eyes could not resist it, I stared at it and looked at everything that was right before me.

" I said it, I knew you have never been to a privileged place, sit there" she pointed at a chair for me.

I faced her, unsure of what I wanted to say to her at first, but I knew there were a lot of things to say to her.

I wanted to resist her and let her know that I had a mind of my own and she can not control me the way she seems fit.

" I would rather stand, and I have a question for you," I said.

She looked shocked that I refused her offer of me sitting down.

Even though I was going to sit, it was never going to be where she had asked me to sit.

" What question do you have?"

I had this question in mind and I thought about it, she was the only person coming to my mind to ask.

" Why are you the Luna of this Pack? I am here now,and I heard that you are also a Luna, aren't I the Luna as well?" I asked her.

She looked at the maids that surrounded her. Then she laughed.

She walked from where she was and stood right in front of me, her fingers were raised to my chest. Her eyes shone brightly but were filled with anger.

" How dare you think that you are worthy of being a Luna? You were picked, a huge price was paid for you to be here, I have heard all about you, and let me tell you for free, you won't last long here" she said, right into my face like she was going to eat me up.

She had just stirred up a challenge and I am taking it up.
