“Clara.” Dad’s voice sounded from the door. “What’s wrong?” I glanced at him and mom who were both throwing me worried gazes. “I’m fine, don’t worry.” I smacked Lucas’ hand away, straightening up. “Kasan.” I stepped to him, fingers hesitantly reaching out to grasp his arm. Relief flooded me when he didn’t push me away. “Its Nate…” I whispered, “Nate and Lora. They’re the traitors. I know how that looks with Lucas being her mate, but he’s not one of them, I promise you that. I don’t know who else, but I’m certain about those two. And I heard, Nate is somehow your father’s son… You know what that means, right? You can’t trust anyone, all we have is each other…you, me, mom, dad and Lucas. You’re going to kill them all, right? Then, together…let’s d---"“Did he do that to you?” Words left his lips, words that were directed at me, yet his eyes still hadn’t even touched my figure. “You mean these bruises? Well yeah but t---”“Stay.” Wait what? Stay? Stay where? Is he telling me to stay
M-My blood…? What is she saying?“Give…or I…make you…” W-What?I don’t know what the hell is happening and it frustrates me. Scares me even! I don’t understand…who is this woman…really? No, is it even a woman?“Clara…it’s you, right? Y-You’re Clara, aren’t you?” Mother’s hesitant voice came from the other end of the room. They had both drifted further away from me and glued themselves to the wall, their faces gone wary. I don’t blame them, even I am frightened of my own mind. But what makes me uneasy is the fact that… this expression of theirs…the words mom just said…it’s just like that time…that time in the dungeon. They looked at me just like this…as if I was a stranger to their eyes. This sudden fear of me…where did it rise up from? “Who else…would I be? Mom...Dad…you know something, don’t you? You weren’t scared of me a moment ago, but what’s that look on your faces…? Is it because I sound crazy? Yeah, I do feel pretty insane, but I wouldn’t hurt either of you. My claws aren’t
She reached for Kenley’s chin, tilting his head over as my blood seeped into his mouth. His lips twitched against my skin, adam's apple bobbing slowly as he swallowed. He…drank it… He swallowed it…himself. Those invisible walls that kept me sealed completely disappeared the second he gulped, and as soon as I realized that my body had reverted back to me, I ripped my hand from his lips. Trembling, I held it against my chest, wide-eyes watching Kenley’s chest rise and fall. I paled. I-Its done…it’s been fucking done…! “Her eyes…they’re back…” Mom’s voice sounded just as I heard her feet make a sudden dash towards me. She dropped to the floor beside me, a sob leaving her lips as she pulled me into her embrace, hugging me close. “Y-Your blood…w-why did yo---” “Sorry.” With a face of complete gloom, I dropped my eyes from Kenley’s form, far too ashamed to look at another of my handiworks. I can hear it clearly now…his heartbeats. There’s no doubt that he drank it… right before my ey
KIARA’S POV: I sat up, cracking my neck and wringing my hands as my golden eyes peered over the room, running over the two in the corner and the two beside me. It seems they haven’t noticed… that I have gained full control of the human. I told her that mate was in danger, and she trusted me so easily that she even gave up her body. Well technically, I might be completely right. My first lie, is it? No, all that shit I said about Lucas being a ‘natural' was totally bullshit as well. Again, this might also be completely true, but I know nothing of it. The human is really pathetic after all, I think we’ll like each other. Just look how obedient she got?Ha!Now…I think we’ve been sitting around for far too long. It’s time, I joined the war like I promised, yes? I’m like a newborn pup, I crave the thrill of battle and the taste of the enemy's blood. Being caved inside this human and unable to stretch my limbs was utterly boring, suffocating even. A wolf should never live like that.
KIARA’S POV: Shoving the wolves aside, Nate straightened his back and relaxed his shoulders, locking his hands behind him as he sauntered forward. He moved almost gracefully through the night with his dark eyes trained on me, looking as if he was an untouchable figure who could never be harmed despite in the middle of a war. I grinned. So, he thinks I won’t put a hole through his skull like I did that other mutt? Well, he thought wrong! I will make them all fear me…him and all his pathetic wolves! The sound of a twig snapping and the low, animalistic breathing alarmingly close by made me lose focus, the thoughts whirling around in my mind ceasing. Alerted by the incoming danger, I snapped my head to the right, gaze landing on a wolf as it slowly crept towards me like a hungry predator. It was humongous and it’s fur was mostly brown in color with reddish lining on it’s back. It’s heavy paws sunk into the ground when it neared me, sharp teeth on display whilst a loud growl escaped t
KIARA’S POV: The next thing I knew, hands had already grabbed me by both feet and…I was falling…!I reacted fast, shifting and landing on my elbows against the ground, my free foot quickly ramming into the hand that gripped me. A groan sounded from behind me and as soon as I felt his hold loosen on my ankle, I used the chance to swing my leg up, slamming it into his jaw. A satisfying crack was heard and I quickly crept forward, flatting my palms then pushing myself up. I was seconds away from getting to my feet, but as if the pain didn’t register, he lunged for my ankles once again, this time both hands gripped me, nailing my legs to the ground. Ah, this fucking shit! How…the fuck is he still moving so effortlessly?!“Get...off!” “Now, look at what you’ve done. How do you suppose I punish you?” He rolled his shoulders, the movement increased the flow of blood from his wound yet he did not wince. “I hope you don’t think your stupid mate will save you. By the time he’s even close, I’
KIARA’S POV: I twisted around with a glare, my eyes sweeping across the woods and landing on a woman in all black with a mask covering her face as she entered the forest from the shed’s direction, a gun cocked on her shoulder and a broad grin on her lips. The scent she owns…is one that I’ve marked as an enemy’s, but there’s no doubt that she’s the one who shot the bullets. Has she switched sides?“You're the human who stopped my fight?” I dug my glare into her skin. “Yes.” Her grin widened, smug devouring her features, “But what’s up with that glare? I saved you and I even went and brought backup. You people are stressful, especially my mate. Where is he?”Backup?Right on cue, the sound of paws echoed through the forest and werewolves suddenly thundered in behind her, one after the other…both in human and wolf form. I tilted my head. These wolves…somehow, I can tell that they belong to mate’s pack with just a whiff of their scent, but where did they all come from? This many alli
CLARA’S POV: Clattering made me stir awake, cold breeze hitting my skin and my eyelids slowly blinking open. I looked at the ceiling above me, my hand reaching up to grip my head when it throbbed and dizziness passed over me. “Argh.” I turned my head, catching sight of a knife in someone’s hand as they chopped what looked like an apple into small pieces. I ran my gaze up his arm, and to his face, meeting Kasan's eyes as he looked down at me. He wearing a black suit, and his hair was styled neatly towards the back as if he had just returned from a formal meeting. But despite his shockingly nice appearance, he reeked of that foul scent of dead bodies. “You’re up? How are you feeling? It’s a good thing I decided to dress nicely today.” He grinned, setting down the knife and lifting the plate for me to see. “You want apples?”Is it time to grin like that? The battle…what happened? “You look totally different from the last time I saw you.” I pressed my hands to the bed, pushing myself
