Sasha

After our little intimate time together, I creeped out of the room holding unto his hands like they were all I had.

The game had only gone half before we left and he was back to continue now.

I was still wondering how his wounds healed so quickly or maybe it's part of the many things I'm still to discover.

**************************************

My legs still felt like jelly by the time we stepped outside the arena. The match had been a warzone. Hockey, I’d thought, was brutal enough. But this? This had claws behind every blade, fangs behind every cheer. Kael had played like a beast barely contained inside a man's shape.

The air was icy, but his presence next to me felt warmer than fire. We didn’t speak for a while. Was his eyes were telling me a lot. The match was over. We’d won. But the real game, the one I know she'll come back, but I don't know when.

Kael led us toward the training complex tucked behind the main arena. His jaw was tight, fists clenched at his sides.

“You okay?” I asked finally.

He winked and smirked and it sent sparks in my body “I should be asking you that.”

“I’m not the one who tried to rip someone’s throat out during the third quarter,” I said.

He chucked. “I didn’t rip anything. Technically.”

We reached the training doors, and Kael paused, glancing sideways. His voice dropped an octave. “You shouldn’t have had to see that. Any of it.”

“But I did. And I stayed.”

He opened the door for me, holding it with a subtle nod.

Inside, the lights were dimmed low. The scent of sweat, leather, and faint antiseptic clung to the air. The hum of the heating system was the only sound until a figure stepped out from the hallway to our left.

Tall, lean, with silver-streaked dark hair and amber eyes that felt too sharp, too knowing.

Kael’s posture straightened slightly. “Lucien.”

The man smiled slowly and sauntered forward. "I was wondering when you two would come back from your victory stroll."

Kael turned to me. “Sasha, this is Lucien. My Beta.”

Lucien stopped in front of me and offered a hand, his gaze cutting straight through me like a blade wrapped in silk. “So, you're the mysterious new physiotherapist everyone keeps whispering about. The one who somehow calmed our Alpha mid-rage on the ice.” he smirked.

I hesitated before taking his hand. It was warm. Too warm. Like touching a flame that hadn’t quite gone out.

“I’m Sasha,” I said, my voice smaller than I intended.

Lucien’s smile widened. “I know.”

Kael stepped subtly between us, holding me by the waist. Protective I guess. “Lucien was just leaving.”

Lucien’s brows lifted. “Was I?”

“Now you are,” Kael said sharply.

But Lucien didn’t move. His gaze found mine again. “You know, Kael’s been different since you got here. Lighter. But also... unsteady. It's fascinating. Almost like his wolf doesn’t know what to make of you.”

“I’m sure that’s none of your concern,” I said carefully.

Lucien laughed. “Everything is my concern, Sasha. Especially when a stranger steps into our den and starts waking sleeping thi......”

“Oh, I don’t think,” Lucien continued. “I smell. I feel. You’re not just anyone, sweetheart. There’s power sleeping under your skin. Real power. The kind that makes old wolves nervous.”

Kael’s voice turned deadly. “Lucien......”

" Haven't you seen her mark” Kael said sounding furious.

Lucien raised his hands in mock surrender. “ Ohhhh she's our Luna ..... Interesting. Fine. I’ll play nice. For now.”

He turned to me one last time. “But you should ask Kael why your scent stirred the ancient markings in the East Hall. It’s been dormant for decades. Until you.”

With that, he vanished into the hallway, leaving silence and tension like broken glass in his wake.

I looked at Kael. “What did he mean by that? What markings?”

Kael’s jaw ticked. “Lucien likes to stir trouble.” He said closing the gap between us and laying a soft kiss on my lips.

I smiled but responded “That’s not an answer.”

“The markings he’s referring to are runes. Old ones. Connected to the Moon. They haven’t responded to anyone since… Don't bother anyways" he said holding my hands. I'll be in my room. He winked and turned to leave.

“Since who?”

He faced me again. “Since Selene.”

The name hit something in my chest like a bruise I didn’t remember getting. “That voice. In my head. She called herself a goddess. Said you were hers. That I’m a mistake.”

Kael went still. “She spoke to you?”

“Yes.” I swallowed. “Twice now. First after the match, then again just now. She’s… angry.”

His fists clenched. “Of course she is. She doesn’t like losing control.”

“Who is she to you?” I asked.

He looked up slowly, pain flickering through his eyes. “She was my first mate.  She forced our bond. But... I rejected her. And she’s never forgiven me nor does she want to let go.”

I stumbled back a step. “So she wants to break whatever this is between us?”

“She’ll try. Especially if she realizes you’re waking.”

“Waking?”

Kael exhaled heavily. “Your wolf, Sasha. It’s stirring. That’s what she smells. What Lucien sees. You're not human. Not fully.”

I wrapped my arms around myself. “You knew. You knew and you didn’t tell me.”

“I was trying to protect you.”

“From what?”

“From her.”

The silence stretched. Then, softly, I asked, “And who’s protecting me from you?”

Kael’s eyes darkened, his voice barely audible. “Me? No one. You don’t need protection from me. Just trust. And time.”

But time, I feared, was something we were already running out of.

I could hear something somewhere, far beyond the rink, the snow whispered in a voice I could now almost understand:

“The bond must break. The mate is mine.”

Sasha *** Still outside ***Kael scanned the yard, his eyes glinting wolf-like even in his human form. “Strange.”“Something definitely hit,” I whispered, hugging my arms around myself, acting like I wasn't scared at all. “Like… I don’t know… wood against metal.”“ I just believe someone was definitely following us" I added. We searched, checking around the shed, the fence, even behind the old stone birdbath. Nothing. Just silence and the rustle of trees. Finally, Kael turned to me, stepping close enough that his warmth pressed against the chill in my bones. “You’re shivering.”I rolled my eyes. “From the cold, not from fear.”He smirked knowingly. “You don’t have to pretend, Sasha. I’ll protect you. Always.”My stomach gave the tiniest flip, and I hated that he noticed. His smirk deepened as though he could hear the frantic beat of my heart. We headed back to the mansion, both of us clearly unsettled yet unwilling to admit it.***********************The mansion buzzed with energy w

Sasha*** Begining of the tournament ***The tournament had officially begun.I stood beside Kael just outside the arena gates, the early morning wind carrying the chill of winter on our skin. Around us, humans gathered in eager clusters, their voices buzzing with anticipation and coffee-fueled excitement. Vendors were already shouting prices, children holding up homemade signs for their favorite players, even though the names hadn’t become legends yet.Kael leaned down, brushing a kiss to my temple. “This is it,” he whispered. “Opening day.”I nodded, smiling up at him. He wasn’t playing today, but his nerves ran through him like electric currents. His team had drawn a later match in the bracket, giving them extra time to observe, analyze, and plan their moves, And knowing Kael, he’d use every second. The tournament format was as brutal as it was brilliant:A double elimination system, which meant teams had two chances before getting knocked out. Forty teams total. Only sixteen wou

SashaI was alone in the kitchen, Kael had left me after he got a call from the IceLord's coach.I was craving something spicy. Maybe it was the weather, cold, misty, with the kind of bite that made your bones feel hollow, or maybe it was just… the thought of Kael.It always send shivers down my spine... "Ahhhhh that wolf has definitely done something to me " I shouted and laughed at my behavior. I opened a drawer and reached for a chili pepper, slicing it in half with the knife, the heat of its scent rising like a challenge in the air.“Careful,” came a deep voice behind me. “You're playing with fire.”I froze. Not from fear. From recognition. Kael.I turned slowly, already smiling. "Good. Fire's the only thing that wakes me up."Kael leaned against the doorway, arms crossed, eyes dragging across me with that unreadable hunger again. He was shirtless, muscles rippling beneath tattoos. His scent hit me, dark pine and strawberry flavor..... Maybe I could taste his lips already...My

**** Alpha Draven's rouge pack***After the human ladies were whipped and taken out, A heavy iron door creaked open as a warrior stepped into the cold stone chamber. The smell of blood lingered in the air.Draven.He sat with one leg over the other, his fingers tapping the armrest thoughtfully as he gazed into the roaring fire, mask covering his face."They're preparing for the tournament," said the warrior who had just entered. He dropped to one knee. "Pack after pack is gathering. They're calling it the Tournament of Unity."Draven let out a low, mirthless laugh. "Unity. What a beautiful illusion."Draven rose slowly, the firelight catching the edges of his armor, steel blackened with age, crafted with ancient runes. His presence was commanding, the kind that made warriors tremble and enemies falter."Let them believe they're safe," Draven murmured. "Let them believe their little games matter."A female rogue, her eyes sharp and her presence silent until now, she emerged from the da

Sasha*** Locker room ***The hallway was still empty by the time Kael emerged from the locker room, his damp hair falling into his eyes, a lazy grin tugging at his lips. His jersey was half-zipped, and there was a flush of adrenaline still clinging to his skin.“You survived the storm,” he teased, slinging an arm around my shoulders like we were high school sweethearts.I forced a smile but didn’t lean into him. My mind was stuck in the moment from earlier, the chill, the flickering lights, that *shadow that passed by*. I still couldn’t explain it, and I didn’t want to sound crazy. But something in my gut screamed that it wasn’t nothing.“Kael…”He stopped walking, his gaze turning serious in a heartbeat. “What is it?”I swallowed, glancing back down the hallway as if the shadow might still be there, watching. “I saw something. Earlier. A shape, I think. It moved weird. Fast. It wasn’t normal.”Kael tilted his head. “A shape?”“I know it sounds ridiculous,” I murmured. “But the tempe

Sasha**** Sasha's room **** Kael insisted I bundle up properly, wrapping a thick gray scarf around my neck himself while I pulled on gloves.“You know, I can dress myself,” I said, laughing.Kael smirked, tucking the scarf in snugly. “I know. But this way I get to touch you longer.”I shoved his shoulder playfully, but I was smiling too hard to mean it.We left the mansion behind and walked through the streets like normal people. Just two adults. The city's main square buzzed softly with life, kids sledding down the small park hill, couples holding hands, the warm scent of spice and broth wafting from food stalls. Kael pointed toward a noodle cart with a red paper lantern swaying gently in the breeze.“There,” he said. “That’s where you get the best hot noodles in town.”“You sound suspiciously confident.”“I’m always confident.” Kael winked I rolled my eyes. “Is that an Alpha thing?”“Nope,” he said, tugging my hand. “It’s a Kael thing.”We reached the cart, and the owner, a short
