SIXTY-FIVE | STARLIGHT

We sat beneath a shaded grove of trees, leaning our backs against their rough bark. The cold blistered my skin, and I had to grit my teeth to keep from shuddering.

“Would you like my coat?” Veronica whispered, turning to face me with wild, petrified eyes.
