He came. He came.

He came to find me. The words lingered in my mind as I slowly opened my eyes. I was back in my room, but something was over my mouth. A mask?

My eyes flicked open for a second, then they got heavy. My body didn’t feel like mine. I groaned, trying to sit up on the bed.

“Ariel?” I called her, but there was a mask over my face, so my voice came out muffled. I pushed myself up and sat down, pulling off the mask.

I wheezed, which startled Ariel. “Sasha. Goddess, you are awake!” She rushed to my side.

I coughed, placing the mask aside.

“What happened?” I asked her, and she placed it back on my face. “Don’t take off your oxygen mask,” she scolded, putting it back on me, but I kept shaking my head.

“Cassian. Is he fine?” I asked her, and she scoffed.

“You almost died, and the first thing you ask about is him?” She scoffed, shaking her head like she didn’t believe what she was hearing. I lowered my head, not sure what to say to her. He saved my life.
