Chapter 10: Knives in the Kitchen

Andrews smiled at her reaction. At that moment, he just observed her in silence, a subtle smile playing on his lips before he looked away as if searching for something around the kitchen. Her eyes slowly opened, still skeptical as she watched him.

Chapter 79: Confrontation in the Parking LotAurora felt a knot in her stomach, a wave of discomfort so strong she could barely look at him. It was hard to face him now that she realized he remembered everything."Are you going to ignore me?" he asked calmly. She tried to look at him and say something, but she couldn’t. Her eyes drifted to the ground, to the walls, to anything but Andrews’ eyes."I don't want to talk about it..." Aurora stammered, her voice trembling with uncertainty.Andrews watched her reaction closely, his gaze hardening slightly. He knew what had happened between them. He knew the kiss had been real, and Aurora's refusal to talk about it only made him more determined to understand what was really going on."It happened. I know it did." There was a hint of frustration in his voice. "Why are you ignoring it?"Aurora tried to walk away, as if seeking an escape, but he blocked her."It doesn’t matter," she said sharply, trying to bury the pain it caused her. "

Chapter 78: Another Part of YouDonovan, standing beside him, smirked and crossed his arms.“Well then. Maybe you’ve underestimated your wife. She could break your legs, Mr. Andrews,” he joked.Andrews kept his eyes fixed on Aurora, feeling something new stirring inside him. Fascination. Interest. And perhaps, a twinge of frustration at realizing that, once again, she was so much more than he had imagined. He continued watching from a distance as the event came to an end and Aurora walked across campus alongside Alice. His face remained expressionless, but his mind was racing, absorbing every detail.“What are you planning to do, Mr. Andrews? Want to go over there now? People are starting to recognize you. You should’ve come dressed more casually,” Donovan broke the silence.“We’ll stay a bit longer,” he said, without taking his eyes off Aurora. “I want to see what her routine is like here, what she does, what she studies.”Donovan raised an eyebrow but nodded, hiding a discree

Chapter 77: A New Way of LivingAndrews opened his eyes briefly, and the sun was already lighting up his room. He blinked a few times, confused. Had he… actually slept through the night? He got up abruptly, looking around, but Aurora was no longer there. He rushed out and found Jacy a few meters away, carrying a tray."Where is she? Is that for her?""It's your breakfast, Mr. Andrews. Aurora left before sunrise.""Why?" he asked, discouraged.Jacy smiled, noticing something in his expression."I don't know. She left as if she were running away and said she wouldn't return to the mansion."Andrews frowned."Do you know why Helena was here?""I'm sorry, Mr. Andrews, I couldn’t stop your friend Rodrigo... But as of today, Helena is being deported. Both she and her father are no longer part of anything in this country.""Good.""Did Rodrigo do something?" Jacy asked, swallowing hard.Andrews turned to her, his hands in the pockets of his pajama pants, letting out a heavy sigh

Chapter 76: Opposite Feelings“I’m sorry, Andrews, but all I have is a deep hurt from you. You’ve played with me so many times I don’t even know how I’m still here. So... I won’t give in to your advances… especially because...” she smiled bitterly. “When you’re well, you’ll just forget and keep mistreating me. You lie when you’re drunk, out of your mind, confused. Because when you’re sober, when you can really choose a path, all you do is hurt me. That says more than a thousand words. I’m not a toy.”Her words hung in the air between them. He stared at her silently, his smile fading for a moment while she held his gaze without looking away. It was clear they both felt something. He was silent for a while, as if trying to process what she had said. Then, murmuring almost in a whisper, his breathing slowing, he said:“You’ll see there is a way… If I finally realized there’s a way for everything, you can see it too. If you really knew me… would you give me a chance?”“Then who are y

---With Helena petrified in front of him, Andrews took a step forward, his gaze serious and inquisitive.“What are you doing here?” His voice came out cold, but there was a different weight to it—something distant he couldn’t quite place, as if he had no control over himself.“What do you mean? You’re the one who asked me to come. I knew all that harshness was just a front. You’ve always liked me.” She stammered, genuinely emotional.“Are you sure about that?” he asked, locking eyes with her.Helena, with teary eyes, didn’t hesitate. She stepped forward and hugged him tightly, her familiar scent surrounding him.“Forgive me, Andrews…” she whispered against his chest. He tried to push her away, but his body didn’t respond. The effect of the drug Rodrigo had slipped into his drink made him sluggish, unable to react with his usual firmness. It wasn’t an aphrodisiac—just something that left him weak and dull.“Forgive me…” Helena repeated, her voice cracking.Andrews blinked, his mind fo
