Slave

Chapter 2

The cheerings and song had died down, the people had gone ahead to redecorate their land.

Taking down everything that had to do with the ICANAR to replace it with their Bakarish culture.

The Bakarish was said to be the most popular and well-known land in all of the lands.

La Reine sat on the cold floor of the dungeon.

Earlier when she had heard the scream from the hallway.

Her Nanny had come running to her room, yelling at the top of her voice.. telling her to hide.

She knew her parents had taken the land of Bakarish but it wasn't forcefully and according to what she had seen that day, it wasn't the formal king that had been killed...it was a maid and a servant that had committed an atrocity that had been laid down to rest.

Looking up she frowned when she saw a little girl walk into the dungeon room and walked to the gate where she was held.

"My mother said to leave this here for you. She said you can choose to eat or leave." She said and smiled.

There was no need to smile.

Anger could be seen visibly in her eyes.

She felt like tearing everyone into pieces.

Each and everyone that had taken her family from her wanted nothing but to tear them into pieces and not even leave a bone.

The little girl stopped as she reached the door and turned back to her.

"I'll advice you to eat Princess, it's nice and it's not poison and I also added something for you underneath." The little girl said, making her frown.

When the door of the dungeon room was closed, she stood up and walked to the plate.

It was food but the worst she had ever seen with her eyes.

Looking at it made her nauseous.

She placed a hand on her tummy as she scooted to the wall with the plate.

Taking a position, she took a spoon of the food and sighed.

It was gross but still nice.

Taking another spoon, she kept munching on it till her spoon hit something below, she scooped it out only to see that was it beef.

A big beef that didn't look like something a woman would put in her food for her.

Who was the little girl and out of everyone that had seen her ever since she had turned into a slave..she was the only one to acknowledge her as a Princess?

"I didn't think she would eat the food. When I was made a slave back then by her mother. I didn't eat the food given to me for five days. Imagine the audacity she has to eat what she didn't cook" She heard a voice say and looked up to see three women in the room and one was holding the irons of the gate which she was holding in.

When did they get in? Was she so hungry that she didn't hear them come in?

She looked up and down at the food.

Why did they sound as if they had poisoned the food?

She coughed.

The first one was out of curiosity and then the second was out of pain, as she clutched her belly.

With anger, she looked up at the woman with a bead around her neck.

It wasn't even up to a day since her people had been killed and some taken as slaves and now they were already looking so beautiful?

After learning about how her parents had killed the man on the throne's parents ( she would never call him King) and had taken the land, she was remorseful but then he solved the problem by shedding another blood.

To La Reine, one was not supposed to shed blood, not even God himself!

Her sweet innocent parent had turned out to be the most ruthless person on death and she'd live knowing that her parents had killed many to claim what wasn't hers.

"What is happening? Jesus! What are you doing to me? Let me go this instant!' The woman yelled as the beads began to tighten around the woman's neck.

It was choking her and almost lifting her from the ground as she yelled at the top of her voice.

"Stop doing that to her?" The others yelled but she was not buying it.

If she was going to die then she was taking her with it.

How dare she poison her!

The door burst open suddenly and two men rushed in.

"What's going on in here?" They asked, holding the woman still.

La Reine snapped back to reality and she sighed when she watched the other guard storm towards the gate and struck it hard with his machete.

"What are you doing Princess?" He asked, in mockery.

"I was...I was just eating...I was just eating and she...she poisoned me." She managed to mumble as she held her tummy tight.

The pain had stopped but the anger and the urge to hurt the woman were there.

"The King demands to see you." And thus she was taken to see the King.

The only person that had managed to brew the hatred in her for himself.

Walking into the throne room, she was pushed to a knee on the ground.

The King sat on his throne. His head was decorated with a beautiful crown and his beautiful garment swept the part he took to walk toward her.

La Reine's eyes were focused on the floor and she blinked when those silver shoes came into view.

"Look up Slave." The words rolled up his mouth as he spoke.

"I'm..... I'm not a, I'm not a slave." She muttered, looking up and meeting his eyes.

It was an insult for a gifted being to be a slave.

Such people were kept as people of high status such as a prime ministers or a member of the land's council.

The King smiled. An evil smile that didn't reach his eyes.

"I don't care what power you bear La Reine, you're no longer the Princess of ICANAR but a Slave for the King of Bakarish. My Slave."
