I hated to leave Xander but I needed to get back to my room before the tears started falling freely. One had already slipped out before I could stop it but I didn’t want anyone to see the mess I was about to become.

After locking myself in the safety of my bedroom, I fell against the door and dropped to my knees. The tears were coming fast, falling down my cheeks in thick rivulets before splashing on my bare legs. I hadn’t cried this much in a long time but seeing Storm carry that stag to me opened a floodgate that didn’t want to close.
