POV: Serenity Crescent

I walked over to King Valerius's study, probably to confront him about why I was being kept in the dark about my own case. Was I safe? I didn't know anymore.

I knocked once the moment I got to the door of Valerius's study.

"Come in," he said calmly, but his voice sounded exhausted.

I flattened my gown and pushed the door open. This is it, Serenity. It's either the King tears me to pieces or lets me leave in one piece.

I forced myself to swallow the hard lump in my throat

POV: TristanThe day my sister returned back to Blackwood without Serenity was the first time I ever thought I would be concerned about her that way.I now have a fated mate, Emily Rodgers from Redclaw. The bond was a contract.Serenity's marriage to the king was supposed to be transactional and not protection. My father had sent his men to retrieve her, but it went south. Yet my wolf feels restless each thought I get of Serenity.“The king has fallen into her traps,” my sister had told me. She looked pale that day, a side of her dress torn and her ankles bruised with pinkish lines.I stood at the balcony corridor when Father approached me, holding a stick of cigarette in my left hand.“Ever since Sienna got back from Frost, she has not been herself. Serenity has been balanced for weeks in that estate without a message to us. King Valerius could not keep his own words.”I turned to look at him. He had always wanted to be powerful, influential. My father, it's always about the profit a

This is it, Serenity. It's either the King tears me to pieces or lets me leave in one piece.I forced myself to swallow the hard lump in my throat that had been there for a while.Valerius was sitting back in his leather swivel chair, with something that looked like a newspaper in his hand. But the moment he saw me, his hand shook, as if he hadn't expected anyone to come to his study at this hour."Lycan, sorry to bother you. I have a few things on my mind. Everyone seems to know more about my personal life than I do. Don't I deserve to know anything at all about myself?" I stopped when I realized I was practically yelling at a Lycan."Sor

POV: Serenity Crescent I stood in the quiet palace corridor outside the administrative wing, my heart thumping hard against my ribs. I had caught Beta Marcus as he came out of the financial archives. He held a leather binder under his arm and tried to give me a polite nod before walking past, but I stepped right into his path. I could tell from the grim look on his face that he and Valerius had found something new. "Marcus, can you tell me what you found," I insisted, keeping my voice steady. "I know you were looking into those old bank records about me." Marcus paused, looking around the empty hallway before letting out a slow breath. He realized I wasn't going to just walk away and pretend nothing was happening. "The money sent to Blackwood wasn't a single payment, Serenity," Marcus explained softly. "We found records showing that large payments were deposited into Alpha Gideon's private account every single year. The transfers started the month you arrived at Blackwood as an

POV: King Valerius Marcus walked into my study holding a thick stack of papers. "We checked the bank records again, Your Grace," Marcus said, placing the pages on my desk. "The money sent to Blackwood wasn't just a one-time payment." I leaned over my desk to look at the numbers. "What do you mean?" "The first transfer was made twenty years ago, right around the time Serenity arrived at Blackwood as a baby," Marcus explained. "After that, regular payments were deposited into Gideon Blackwood's account every single year." My hands tightened into fists as I stared at the totals. The amount wasn't small. It was enough money to buy luxury cars, tailored suits, and fund Sienna's expensive lifestyle. Gideon had used the money meant for Serenity to make his own family rich, all while forcing her to sleep on a thin mattress in the basement. "A retainer," I said, my voice cold. "Yes," Marcus replied. "Someone wasn't just paying Gideon to take her in. They were paying him a massive annual

POV: Serenity Crecent By afternoon, I had already heard about Blackwood's public statement. Gideon had made sure everyone heard his version of the story. According to him, Blackwood had taken me in when I was a helpless baby and raised me out of kindness. He spoke about giving me food, shelter, and a home when nobody else wanted me. The more I heard, the angrier I became. Kindness? I couldn't believe he had the nerve to call it that. I remembered exactly what my life in Blackwood had been like. I remembered the scrubbed floors, the chores I was given, and how I was always expected to be grateful simply because they had allowed me to stay under their roof. Gideon could tell the world whatever he wanted, but I knew the truth. I remembered how many times Sienna made a mistake and I was blamed for it. Somehow, no matter what happened, I was usually the easiest person to point at. I remembered the insults about my body and the way they made me feel like there was something wrong with

  • The Mad Lycan Plus-Size Mate    The Elders Warning

POV: King Valerius The deepest chamber of the royal archives remained untouched by the modern lighting that illuminated the rest of the estate. Down here, behind a heavy oak door requiring my personal biometric scan, the air was cool and dry. Tall mahogany shelves held centuries of handwritten ledgers, sealed bloodline treaties, and leather-bound royal registries. I stood at the broad reading table, a heavy book open beneath my hands. My phone sat face down beside a glowing tablet displaying high-resolution scans of regional pack crests, but my eyes remained on the faded parchment in front of me. Zenith shifted restlessly inside me, his claws catching at my thoughts. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw the silver lotus and crescent moon glowing beneath Serenity's skin. "Searching through forgotten records won't change what you saw, Your Grace." I didn't turn around as the heavy oak door creaked open. Elder Silas stepped into the quiet room, his polished leather shoes striking the f
