ELENA

I stepped closer, following behind them. I didn’t even realize someone had crept up behind me—until a hard object slammed into the back of my head. Everything went black.

When I woke up, pain exploded in my skull. My head ached terribly, and I found myself seated beside a young boy—no older than ten or eleven—who was trembling like a leaf in a windstorm.

I glanced around the dimly lit room. No one else was there. I groaned inwardly at my stupidity. How could I have just gone along with them? I had known it was a trap, yet I still walked right into it.

I felt for my bracelet and nearly sighed in relief when I found it still secured around my wrist. Carefully, I twisted it, and it loosened. My fingers sought the tiny hidden button, and when I pressed it, the bracelet popped open to reveal a concealed dagger.

The door slammed open, hitting the wall with a loud bang. Three people walked in. Camilla’s smug face greeted me first, followed closely by Dante’s red, angry one. Behind the

ELENA I dragged myself to the bike and rode down to the casino. I wasn’t feeling up to it today, but I knew the kid was safe with Sarah. She was a natural mother, so it felt right to leave him with her—and I trusted her completely. When I arrived, I stepped past the bouncer and security at the door. They greeted me as I walked in, and I went straight to the bar.“My usual—and make it much stronger,” I ordered. The bartender nodded and got to work, signaling to one of the others to mix it for me.Once it was ready, she handed me the glass. I downed it in one go and ordered another to take with me. I hadn’t taken more than six steps when someone blocked my path.I glanced up from my drink—and of course, it was Dante. He was glaring down at me, his face red with anger.Seriously, what was it with this guy and always being mad?“You keep up that face and you won’t live long,” I muttered dryly. Laughter erupted from a nearby table, and I watched as Dante’s hands curled into fists.“I’d ho

DELUCA When we returned in the limousine, there was a heavy silence hanging between us, thick enough to be cut with a knife. No one said a word as we pulled up outside the resort. Lucas got out first, retrieving our belongings—mostly the essentials we couldn’t afford to lose. Important documents, encrypted devices, and the bag that held what was left of our evidence.Once everything was secured, we drove straight to the private airstrip on the outskirts of the island. My jet was already waiting on the tarmac, engines humming low like it sensed the urgency in our steps. I had called for it before we even found Elena, anticipating we might need a quick exit. Now, seeing it there, I allowed myself a brief breath of relief. We were leaving that cursed place behind.During the flight back, the cabin was eerily quiet.Lucas sprawled out across a reclined seat and was snoring within minutes—completely knocked out. The exhaustion had hit him hard.Elena sat across from me, her arms wrapped p

ELENA “You think it was that easy?” Dante laughed, and the kid in Lucas’ arms let out a soft shriek of fear.Dante had been the one running this entire operation after Lorenzo’s death, and when I discovered that, my heart ached—It pained me to realize just how naïve I’d been from the start.Dante already owned most of the empire Lorenzo left behind. The club was just one of them. Rage stirred deep inside me as I silently vowed to take back what should never have fallen into his hands.“Dante,” Deluca grunted, his tone hard.“Oh, don’t be so dramatic. We’ve all come to play, right? So let’s play.”His voice dropped the fake excitement and turned cold as he signaled his men to kill us.They brought out their guns, ready to fire—when something suddenly flew into their midst.I had only a split second to react. I yanked Deluca down with me just as the explosives went off.My ears rang from the blast, the force of it rattling through my skull. I struggled to my feet, helping the others a

DELUCA Hot rage slammed into my chest, making it impossible to breathe for a full minute. When I finally sucked in some air, I marched up to the man who had made my nights restless ever since I discovered his involvement in her death—I couldn’t even finish the thought, much less say it out loud. All I felt in that moment was the desire to make him bleed the way they made her bleed. He was lucky he wasn’t the last one I had to find. I had something much more brutal planned for the last one—because he had played the biggest role in it all.My fingers clamped around the bastard’s flimsy throat as punches rained down from me onto him.“P—”“Isn’t that what she cried when you did it? Over and over again?”My voice was hoarse, cold, but dripping with the fury boiling inside me.His eyes widened in recognition just before I slammed my fists into his face—twice, in quick precision. Then, I pulled a dagger from my pocket and drew out my gun.Without hesitation, I shot him in the leg. He scre

DELUCA Fuck.I slammed my fists into the wall, the sharp crack echoing through the room as pain surged up my arms. My whole body trembled—not just from rage, but from something far worse.Fear.Fear for Elena.Lucas had somehow hacked into the resort’s cloud while I was gone—quietly, relentlessly working from the backseat of the car as I hiked through the woods with her. I should’ve never left her alone. While I was distracted by the calm, she was walking straight into the storm. What he found? It was worse than anything we’d imagined. The resort wasn’t just a shady operation with hidden layers—it was the port. The epicenter. A meticulously concealed hub for human trafficking, veiled behind luxury, fake smiles, and crystal chandeliers. We had our suspicions before, but nothing like this. We were looking at rot in the walls, not the very foundation. And the worst part? Elena had vanished.I’d returned alone, boots caked with mud and a strange weight in my chest, only to find Lucas’s f
