Silas’s Pov

I was pacing when Pete came in with yet another mysterious woman— I had no idea who this was but she was dressed in a maid clothing.

This wasn’t what I asked for.

This wasn’t what I wanted.

But Pete knew better than to test my patience. If he dared bring someone into my space without reason, he had better come with an explanation that would save his skin

“Boss,” he called out.

I stopped mid-step, my glare snapping to him. My eyes shifted to the woman standing half a step behind him, her head bowed, hands clutching the edge of her apron like she thought it could shield her from me.

“Who the fuck is this?” My voice cut through the air like a whip.

Pete raised his palms, careful, and measured. “She’s not a threat.”

I ignored him, my attention was fixed on her. “Speak! Who are you?”

The woman’s throat worked as she tried to form words. Her voice was barely a whisper, trembling like glass about to break. “I… I’m her maid. Please… I didn’t come to cause trouble.”

A maid?

  • The Mafia’s Housewife Revenge   :SIXTY—ONE:

Imogen’s povI stood outside the police station beside my car as I waited for my husband to come out.The scorching sun was way too harsh but that didn’t deter me from anything I had in mind. No matter what was going to happen— I was ready to go ahead with my plan. The buzzing of the gates snapped me out of my thoughts, and my sight shifted to the gate to see Perry. His smile was the same— it had always been the same. Arrogant and hollow, like he thought the world bent to him. Two officers were with him as he walked forward, their presence almost amusing because even in cuffs, he moved like he owned them.Weird but I was prepared to make this quick.I had begged Silas to help me get him out— even had to lie just to get him out. Before I could gather my thoughts, they were already standing in front of me and that made me a lottle bit nervous but I had to keep myself steady.“Good day, officers,” I said as I took a quick sniff as a way to ground myself.“Mrs Cullen…”“Please,” I cut

  • The Mafia’s Housewife Revenge   :SIXTY:

Imogen’s POVThe first thing I felt was warmth. Not the fever heat that had burned through my body before, but something steadier. A weight, that felt gentle, grounding and wrapped around my hand.Slowly, I tried to open my really heavy eyes.Light shone through the curtains, soft and muted. My chest ached as I pulled in a slow and sharp breath, and when my vision cleared, I jolted upright with a sharp but short gasp. For a split second, terror consumed me— had Perry brought me back? Had I only dreamed of escaping? Then I saw him.Silas.His head rested on the edge of the bed, dark hair falling over his brow, his hand wrapped securely around mine as though even in sleep he refused to let go. His chest rose and fell evenly, his hard demeanor softened in slumber, though even then he looked like a man ready to wake at the first sign of danger.Relief flooded me so fast it stole the air from my lungs. My body eased back against the pillows, trembling, but no longer from fear.I wasn’t w

  • The Mafia’s Housewife Revenge   :FIFTY—EIGHT:

Silas’s PovFor the first time in a long time— I got scared.“Imogen.” My voice cracked, too sharp, too desperate, nothing like the man the world feared.I froze for a second, but without thinking I hurriedly ran to where she was on the couch, placing my ear on her chest to hear her heart beating.I did.A slight relief washed over me but her breaths had become really short and her temperature was through the roof.I didn’t think—I couldn’t. My phone was in my hand before the thought had even registered, the number already dialed.“Get the doctor here. Now!” I barked, my voice a crazy mix of command and panic. “If he’s not through that door in ten minutes, I’ll burn the hospital to the fucking ground and ruin him too!”I didn’t wait for a response. I ended the call and forced myself to breathe, but my chest wouldn’t loosen up. My pulse roared way too loud in my ears as I looked back at her pale face. She looked too still. Too breakable. No! Not her. Not like this.I jumped to my

Silas’s Pov“No! I told you that they do not get to leave because if they do then our plan won’t be successful,” I yelled at the phone.“But boss…” a voice came from the other end.“You don’t get to second guess my decision, and if you are not capable— I could send Pete to take over,” I shot back, my voice was so sharp, it could slice through walls.“I’ll get it done, boss.”“Good.” I removed the phone from my ear and took a sip of whiskey from my glass.I had barely ended the call with one of my men when the door burst open.Pete came in, carrying something— no, someone— in his arms. At first, I thought it was some casualty he had possibly dragged in from the street out of being kind, but as the dim light caught her face, my entire body froze.Imogen.For a heartbeat, the world shifted. My hand went numb, and the phone I was holding clattered against the hardwood floor, but I didn’t care.I crossed the room in three strides, faster than I thought possible, and dragged her from his a

  • The Mafia’s Housewife Revenge   :FIFTY—SIX:

Imogen’s povMy phone’s screen glowed brightly in my face as the message shone bright, but the words all appeared blurry. It was an amber alert.I guess my secret was out.I took a deep breath as I opened the message then a wave of relief had washed over me as the amber message was about a missing older woman and not about that bitch.“I can’t believe, Miss Joyce is missing yet again,” Perry’s voice cut me sharp from my wild thoughts.I looled at him, as I faked a sharp smile and a nod to hide the tension I had felt earlier. Miss Joyce was everyone’s favorite waitress at the local diner, my mom worked at. She had gone missing couple of years ago but was found, just days later at the lake. Then she got diagnosed with dementia— so, these episodes became a norm for everyone.“Will you be joining the searching party?” He asked.“Are you going to be involved?” I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.“If you are then, maybe I will go to.” He pushed his hand into his jacket— I guess he was
