Chapter 11
Every morning Dean picked her up, in the company of Leo and Buddy. Then only their hands touched. Sometimes they exchanged tender looks.
During the break, Dean stole a quick kiss now and then, by pulling her to a corner in the school building, behind a wall, or under the stairs.
Three times a week, they rehearsed with the band in the activity center after school. Although Maddie had been shy behind the microphone at first, she soon became bolder. She enjoyed the lyrics, which she could feel deep in her soul, words that made that possible.
Of course, there were also songs that she didn't like as much, but if they belonged to the repertoire, she didn't really make a point of it.
Moon had also discovered that there was a young man in her granddaughter's life. She had already said a few times that she could take him home, but Maddie still hadn't.

The days after that event, was dominated by the Christmas holidays. The decoration of the tree, the celebration of Yule, the longest night.Everyday things.It was nice that everything was somewhat in balance again.Moon had almost recovered from everything she had been through, but Maddie had the feeling that Omem had lost resilience.The glee had disappeared from her eyes.Maddie also realized that she was much more powerful than her grandmother, perhaps stronger than most of the magical creatures she knew herself. There was also a lot of accountability involved. She was glad she had Raven to share it with.She felt some sort of unrest in Raven as if he was upset about something, but she wouldn't insist. She knew he would cut himself off from her completely. And that was the last thing she wanted. She had to be patient, he would come up with the story if he thought it necessary.Maddie felt that the energy she carried had increased.
