Chapter 4- Unable to take the wolf form.

Thinking of her ambition kindled the determination within her, and she rose from the ground, overcoming her pain. Within a blink of an eye, she had leapt over Amelia and, holding her arms tight, overturned her, and finally she sat on her chest. The unanticipated attack had an adverse impact on Amelia, who found it tough to jerk Ella off her chest, and she lay still like a statue.

Alpha Gabriel, who happened to be on the spot just to view the sight, was overwhelmed with joy. He had already defeated Alpha Amelia’s powerful Beta, and his troop members had tied him with chains to make him their slave. It was the rule among werewolves to treat the defeated enemies as slaves.

“Well done! Lara! I am proud of you. That is the reason I selected you to fight Amelia. You are simply awesome! I know you will fare well in the next round as well.” Said Alpha Gabriel in an appreciative tone, trying to encourage her.

Amelia had sensed the human smell. She suspected that the one fighting with her is not a werewolf but a human. “She cannot be Lara. I will transform into my wolf form. If she is a human, she will lose the battle and even if she is Lara herself, she is not so efficient in her wolf form.” thought Alpha Amelia as she sprang up, jerking Ella off, and started stripping off her clothes suddenly, perhaps due to her increasing muscle size. Her brown eyes changed into glowing green eyes. Her face contorted, and her bones shifted inside her. She developed hair all over her body. Her canines turned into fangs. Her nails turned into claws as she howled aloud, enough to burst Ella’s ears. Soon, a ferocious wolf stood in front of her, ready to attack her. Amelia knew that her wolf was her strength. She could defeat Lara only in her wolf form.

“Take your wolf form Lara! Don’t you understand? Shift into your wolf form instantly, or you will be killed, and we will lose the battle.” Command Alpha Gabriel in a thundering voice.

Ella stood still. She was at a loss to understand. “What are they saying? How can I take my wolf form? How do I tell them that I am a human and not a werewolf? If they became aware of my reality, they would just eat me alive.” She stressed hard on her brain, trying to think of her next move, but she felt helpless and inefficient to fight a wolf that was ready to attack her.

“Clara! Take your wolf form at once and continue the fight against Amelia. Lara is unable to shift at this moment. As per the rules of our community, a male wolf can fight a female wolf only if no female is present in his troop. I therefore cannot fight Amelia.” Commanded Alpha Gabriel.

Clara did as per the instructions of the Alpha, and Ella heaved a sigh of relief, but she was further perplexed when she saw Alpha Gabriel approaching her. In a split second, he just removed Ella’s helmet and came closer to her, making her heartbeats race. She just became a bundle of nerves as he pushed her head towards the left and examined the right side of her neck.

“My suspicion was right! You are not Lara. I had marked Lara on her neck as she was my ‘to be Luna.' You resemble her to such an extent that even your mother believed you to be her. But that mark is missing on your neck. Who are you? You are certainly a spy for some enemy or the representative of that witch. Has she planted you here? If you are not Lara, then where is she? What have you done to her? Have you killed her?” Alpha Gabriel just bombarded her with questions.

The suspicion mixed with rage in his eyes made her tremble. She could hardly say anything out of fear. "I... I... I am..." Ella just stumbled over her words, unable to complete her sentence.

“You smell like a human, and I can very well ask the soldiers to cut you into pieces so that we can all eat your meat tonight for the meal. But I want to know the truth about you. That witch must have given you Lara’s look by using her magic to deceive and mislead us.” Alpha asserted.

Ella wanted to answer his questions and reveal the truth, but she could hardly speak a word out of fear.

“Soldiers! Arrest her and put her behind bars. She seems to be a trespasser. She is not Lara. Find out who she is. If the situation demands it, you are at liberty to use third-degree torture against her.” Alpha Gabriel roared with the force of a thousand lions. His anger knew no bounds.

As per the rules of the community, they chained Ella’s hands and legs and started walking towards the right side, where the prisons were constructed. They had hardly walked a few steps when a werewolf came running towards the Alpha and shouted aloud, “Alpha! I just saw Luna lying unconscious on the outskirts of the forest beside the waterfall."

“What! How did that happen? I am sure this is the work of this girl who is chained in front of us.” Stay here and keep her chained while I return with Lara. We might need this girl’s help in getting to know what exactly has happened to her.” Alpha rushed towards the outskirts of the forest after giving the instructions.

“What is the Alpha saying? Which witch is he talking about? I have never met a witch in my life.” Ella pondered as she watched the two female wolves fight right in front of her. She was chained and felt like an animal already.

Clara was Beta Leon’s mate. She, too, was an efficient warrior and fought Alpha Amelia with all her might. A fierce battle was going on between the wolves as they each growled at one another. Clara had green, glowing eyes and a weaker physique compared to Amelia in her wolf form, and she looked like a puny creature in front of a big monster. Amelia had yellow, glowing eyes and a very strong physique in her wolf form. “What and how much does she eat? She has such a strong physique! Poor Clara!” Ella started pitying Clara and prayed for her victory, although she didn’t even know her whereabouts much.

Each of them had their eyes turn dark red as they growled ferociously. The sound rattled the bones of the audience, which was split into two groups. One group cheered for Amelia, while the other group cheered for Clara. Amelia cut a gash into Clara’s ears, and Clara reacted by biting at Amelia’s unguarded shoulders. Amelia howled, trying to shake her off. Clara tried to keep the hold, but soon she lost her grip as she was thrown back, knocking into the crowd of werewolves.
