Beside him was one other Alpha. My eyes locked with his and I regretted instantly. He is just as he is on the news and the one person my dad warned me to avoid. He is the person that caused my brother to be expelled, Lucian Orion, the Second son of the Alpha of Shadow Moon park. The most influential pack in the whole of Scottish Highlands. It's no wonder he's friends with such jerks.
I saw Owen whisper into his ears and his lips slowly curved into a cold smirk as his eyes never left mine. I inhaled deeply and faced the Captain, at least his face was less scary.
"I'm sorry sir, today is my first day..."
"That is not an excuse, you heard the bell ring, two hundred push ups."
I didn't even bother protesting and nodded, I could still feel Lucian gaze on me even with my back facing him. After the training, my entire body felt sore and I could barely walk. I managed to make my way to the school lab. It's been more than twelve hours since I took the suppressants. My hormones nearly slipped off when I encountered Lucian. Why does he have such an effect on me?
***
After injecting the suppressant into my blood stream, I got back most of my energy. This batch of suppressant wasn't just ordinary. It had some powerful effect that could make me regain my strength like an Alpha. Alpha genes were added to it. My father really invested so much on this. I snorted as I relaxed at the back of a board. The lab was empty. It was already late, not sure if it's the reason for the emptiness. Alex used to say Alphas had no use for medicines, hence the school had no use for a lab.
Suddenly, I smelt something like an approaching person. His footsteps were almost detectable. I quickly packed the entire batch of suppressant but before I could hide the syringe, the door burst open and Lucian appeared, his eyes on my hands, his expression darkened.
"What's that?”
The syringe lay on the table. I breathed a deep sigh of relief when I noticed it was empty. I hadn't used it yet to administer the suppressants.
"What's what? Why are you following me, don't you have something better to do?" I said coldly with a confident and dominant aura.
"Why are you sneaking around the school premises?"
"What has that got to do with you?" I stood up slowly from the floor. "You are a S ranked Alpha, do you have that much free time?"
S rank is the highest rank in this academy, followed by the A rank and V rank, my brother was a V ranked Alpha before he was expelled from the Academy.
Lucian eyes narrowed slightly as he took a step closer, my breathing hitched when he placed his hand above me. My heart turned chaotic and I could feel my hormones threatening to spill. No! Why would he have this kind of effect on me? I could even stand it when Mason was so close to me earlier today.
Lucian used his right fingers to raise my chin. His grey eyes locked with mine and for seconds we glared at each other.
"What are you hiding?"
My heart skipped a bit. Had he caught my scent? No way. He wouldn't be this calm if he suspected something.
"What do you mean?" I shifted my body from his lock, but his broad shoulders still covered my entire body.
"You are acting really suspicious? Why do you skip the locker room showers? It's a capital..."
"It has nothing to do with you, damn it. Why don't you just mind your freaking business." I said and broke off his hold.
Taking a shower together with those students would surely expose me, my scents leak when I shower and even this high quality dose of suppressant can't suppress that, that's why I had to leave the locker room.
Lucian eyes dim slightly. He folded his arms across his chest and watched me scurry with my bag. I walked to the lab door, not even turning back to look at his expression, but his next words made me frozen in place.
"You know, your level of confidence can't be compared to your brother, even though you are smaller."
I turned slowly towards him with enraged eyes. He smirked and walked towards me. My heart skipped a bit as he approached me, his tall figure towering over me. He bent his neck so his lips could reach my ears, and whispered eerily.
"I hope you last more than him though. It was fun to mess with him, but you seem more fun."
With that, he left. The words didn't sink in completely until the door closed behind me. My mind raced as different thoughts ran through them. The very person I was warned to avoid noticed me on my very first day, and took a weird interest to bully me. I sighed and walked out of the lab. The earlier I completed the mission, the earlier I would leave this school.

Morning came too fast and the dorm corridor was already buzzing with students going in and out. When I woke up, my roommate hadn't returned last night. I rushed to the bathroom and took a quick shower. According to the class schedule, today is the day of Combat training and sparring practice. This wouldn't be too difficult.
After dressing up in my training gears, I left my room and was shocked to see a familiar shadow down the hallway.
"Arden?" I called out and slowly the figure turned towards me, I smiled and waved at him, he smiled back but didn't wave.
"Your dorm room is on this floor?" I asked perplexed, how much of a coincidence is that.
"I'm in room 0078 down the hall."
"Amazing, my room is 0081, just two rooms apart buddy." I said excitedly. He is the first ever person to show me kindness even though he claimed he wasn't doing that.
"Did Mason and his gang make trouble with you after yesterday's training?" He asked as he opened the huge iron door of our dormitory.
"No, I couldn't even find them after the class." I said with a fake smile. Lucian had indeed made trouble with me.
"Be careful around them. They are notorious school bullies, and their families and packs are very powerful. Even the Chancellor of the school would side with them if they caused real damage."
I nodded, just like my brother's case, all I need to do is avoid running into them.
The next two months went smoothly for me in school. After the incident that day, Lucian no longer made trouble with me. His friends avoided me too, even though their gaze bored a hole in me. When we paired in any training, they usually beat the shit out of me, but it made me stronger in a way.At the cafeteria, Lucian usually sits at a table before me. It seemed like he's watching me from a distance. Arden and I became much closer. He is the only friend I made in this school. My mission had been put on hold. The boys and girls practice ground, dorms, training and sparring arena were separated. We only have training together once every two weeks.I had encountered the enigmatic Claire, beautiful with a black long hair. Her eyes were golden, a rare eye color among Dominant Alpha's. She is elegant and graceful, and I doubt if I would ever have a chance with her. Our training together is in two days and finally, our department gets to combat with hers. I'd finally have a chance to meet he
"What rank are you?" I asked curiously. I would guess a V ranked Alpha since he is a recessive Alpha but his confidence and the way he carried himself gracefully is nothing short of a S ranked Alpha."A ranked, second place in Combat and eleventh ranked in sparring."We stepped into the combat room with my face filled with shock. Would I even be able to hold out in sparring with him? We ran three laps and gathered round in a circle around the instructor. Unlike yesterday's captain, instructor Ronan was slim and didn't bother with the late comers. We were paired together to practice. Two Alpha's would be called into the arena and they fought as we watched. No one stopped until blood was drawn. My heart raced heavily, seeing all this."Alpha Ethan and Alpha Lucian. It's your call." The instructor's cold voice made me flinch internally. Why the Fuck would I be paired with him? How much of a coincidence is this?We shook hands and bowed to each other. A taunting smirk was plastered on Lu

"If there's nothing, I will be on my way then." "I dare you to take a step from there." A dark yet lazy voice muttered slowly."What do you need from me?" My voice was low but firm, hiding under the guise of confidence, but deep down I was terrified. My dad had repeatedly warned me not to get on the bad side of these dominant Alphas. That was what got my brother kicked out after being beaten into a deep coma. Stubbornness ran in our blood and was not less in mine even though I am an Omega."Look at him speaking, you'd think he is the heir to the Shadow Moon pack.""He's got some guts, I like him already.""Cut it out Owen, he's just a twink, what's so special about him?"Owen, the one with the deepest voice walked up to me, his blue bright taunting blue eyes locked with mine and after what felt like a long stare, he snickered. He grabbed my shoulders roughly and pulled me closer to him, which made me panic instantly."See that, that's what makes him so interesting, look at his eyes."
"Listen Ethan, do not mess this up. Claire Dalton, she is your target this time. She is our only hope of ever entering the upper class, don't mess this up. Don't be Weak."I nodded and quietly slipped out of the car. He didn't even care to remind me to always wear and inject the correct dose of my suppressant. He was only consumed with his greed. The bulky man silently led me inside the school building. The building towered to the sky and the entire atmosphere was eerie. I sighed within me. Just two years, I can do this.***A young help led me to a locker room. She wore a red and white uniform and from her scent, she's a Beta, a high class beta. Her face was stern as she directed me into the male dorm. After settling in, my room is the last on the floor and I get to share a room with another recessive Alpha which I'm glad about, because then I wouldn't have to worry about him discovering my scent when I shower or in heat. Recessive Alphas don't have scent detection like the dominant
Ethan's POV"He has no choice but to do what I say. He is leaving for that academy whether he approves or not." My father's angry voice rang in his home office, making me gulp. I was sweating profusely, hoping not to be caught eavesdropping in the conversation."Theo, you know that this school is only for Alphas, Ethan can't survive there, he would be discovered the next day.""That is the reason for the successful suppressant experiment, isn't it?"My dad's cold voice resounded in the room and even from here, I can imagine the shocked look on my mother's pretty face."I can't believe you are trying to make our son a lab rat just for your selfish interests. Theo, how far do you intend to go?" My mum's voice was muffled, I knew instantly that she was trying to hold back her tears. I clutched my hands tightly.Ever since I was born, I had always been a disappointment to my father just because I was an omega."This is for the best. I'm sure that's what he wants too....""He's going to b
