Skylar

I stared at the screen in front of me in excitement. The last few lines of detail on the design were finally complete.

After weeks of back-and-forth, long nights, and countless changes, I had finally reached the finish line. I leaned back in my chair and smiled to myself.

This one had taken everything out of me. The colors, the layout, the typography—every single thing.

I’d poured my heart into it, and now, looking at the final version, I felt proud. Really proud.

I suddenly heard a knock on my office.

“Skylar?” a familiar voice said.

I turned. “Tara.”

She stepped in, arms crossed loosely, a soft smile on her face. “How’s work going?”

“Good,” I replied with a grin. “Actually, I just wrapped up the final touches on the design I’ve been working on.” I turned my laptop a bit, giving her a peek at the screen.

Her eyes widened. “Wow, this is stunning. Skylar, you’re really doing something here.”

She looked from the design to me, and said with an encouraging smile. “Keep

ColeI pulled into the driveway and slowly turned off the ignition. My fingers rested on the wheel for a while before I let go and leaned back against the seat. I heaved a deep sigh, my eyes heavy with exhaustion. The night had stretched out longer than I had planned. Too long, and draining.I reached into my jacket pocket, pulled out my phone, and dialed Xavier. He picked up on the second ring."Xavier," I said, voice low but sharp. "Any updates yet about the investigation?""No. Nothing concrete yet," Xavier replied. "We’re still tracing—"I scowled, running a hand down my face. "That’s not good enough. I need something by the end of the week. I don’t care what you have to do, just get me something! I want to wrap this up as soon as possible.""Understood."I hung up. I didn’t have the energy for more excuses. This investigation had dragged on far too long. I needed to be sure Amelia was safe—only then could I step away, let her live her life while I lived mine. That was the only wa

SkylarI woke up with a sharp pain in my stomach. At first, I didn’t move—I just lay there, my eyes still adjusting to the darkness around me. The pain was dull at first, but then it came again—this time sharper. I pressed a hand over my belly, trying to breathe through it.Ugh.I should’ve known this would happen. Skipping lunch and dinner wasn’t smart—especially not with my condition. The doctor had once explained clearly that women with gastritis need regular meals or their stomach reacts badly. I had ignored that. I was just too tired earlier and thought sleeping it off would be better.“Dang it,” I muttered under my breath.I slowly tried to sit upright, hoping that shifting positions might ease the ache. Maybe if I could just get to the medicine cabinet... I moved an inch.Wrong move.A sudden jolt of pain shot through me like lightning. I couldn't help it—I cried out.The sound must have woken Cole.He stirred beside me and then shot up, fully awake in an instant.“Skylar? What

Unknown POV “Arrrgggghhhhhh!!!!!!!”The basement echoed with screams.Sharp, brutal, soul-wrenching screams. Each lash that landed sent a wet, snapping sound across the room, followed by a guttural cry for mercy. I could hear him begging, gasping, choking on pain as the thick whip split his back. The sour scent of blood clung thickly to the air, mixed with sweat and a faint stench of fear. And still, I kept walking. I slowly descended the iron stairs, and reached the final step and stepped into the dimly lit underground space. As soon as I entered, silence rippled through the room. Every man present—my men—lowered their heads."Boss."They all said it together, their voices unified in respect.A chair was dragged into the center, facing the tortured fool who hung from chains, suspended mid-air, his body a map of fresh welts and bruises. I sat down slowly, my suit neat and untouched by the filth around me. I pulled out my silver case, slid a cigar between my lips, and lit it with a fl

  • Sweet Submission: Love Me, Mr. Billionaire    Watching Him Leave

Cole A few weeks had passed since the last meeting with the board concerning our Asia market expansion. And here I was again—sitting through another boardroom meeting, staring at a sleek screen filled with pie charts and projections about the expansion. The voices of the directors filled the room. “…We saw a six percent growth in the East Asian segment, particularly Korea and Malaysia,” someone said. I nodded faintly, pretending to follow. In truth, my mind was split. A part of me was present, listening, keeping a straight face… but another part—maybe the more restless part—was still circling the same thought I’d had for weeks: the man behind Eclipse Club. The real owner. The one who had bought Amelia and had been using her at Eclipse Club before I was able to finally rescue her. It was infuriating how he kept slipping through our fingers. Every direction we turned led to a dead end. It was as though he was made of smoke and shadows—untouchable. The club had been officially regi

Cole“We’re here,” I said, pulling the car to a smooth stop at the parking lot.Skylar turned toward me. “Thanks for the ride,” she said as she reached for the door handle.“Wait,” I said, leaning closer. “A kiss first. I need fuel to run today.”She chuckled, shaking her head in that amused way she often did when she thought I was being extra.“You’re unbelievable.”Still, she leaned toward me and pressed her lips against mine. But I caught her head gently, drawing her in deeper. Her scent filled my lungs, and her soft lips against mine made the world feel still for just a moment. When I let her go, she was breathless, a little flustered.“Have a great day,” I whispered, brushing a thumb over her cheek. She gave me a playful glare and opened the door. “You too, Mr. Fuel.”I watched her wave as she headed into her office building. My smile lingered until the glass doors swallowed her from view. The moment she disappeared, I frowned.I grabbed my phone and removed it from “Do Not Distu
