Chapter 2

As quickly as she could, Aurora braided her hair and tied it into a bun before changing into some workout clothes and throwing a jacket ever her shoulders. Under her bed was the bag she kept with all of her supplies, like bandages, medicine, and some of the money she got from her fights.

It had been five years since she started doing underground fighting. She accidentally stumbled upon it and as soon as she was exposed she wanted to try. She was already trained with the basics because of Carson and so she sought out professional help to improve her. A year later she entered the ring and from that day she had just kept on climbing.

Aurora opened the door to her balcony. The light for it was off so she did not attract attention to herself as she climbed onto the edge and moved to the wall next to it. The yard below her was dark and there were guards posted at every corner and some walking around. Because the area by her room was so dark she had managed to stay successful in sneaking out for all the years she had been doing it.

In the beginning, noise was a small issue for her but over time she managed to be almost completely silent. There was a drain running along the wall and she used that to support her feet as she scooted across the wall. Then she used a low hanging branch from the tree on the opposite side of the wall when she got to it she swung onto the wall, walked along it, and jumped off on the other side onto the sidewalk.

The fights were located in the city. New York was a vast place but she knew how to maneuver through it. She took the subway that had her come out a few blocks away from the building and walked the rest. The night was chilly and still. It was usually quiet above ground when the fights happened, but after entering the abandoned building and walking down the flights of stairs the cheers became louder and louder until she got to the parking garage.

"Ahh! There she is! My prodigy! How are you, my dear!"

Chelly, Aurora's manager, walked up to her. He was short and an older guy, in his fifties. Chelly was also the one who ran the fights. He decided to manage her after seeing her dedication in the ring and they have been together ever since.

They hung back against the wall behind the crowd as they cheered for the current people fighting. She usually wore a mask in the ring so that no one knew Anthony Fraiser's daughter was participating in underground fights, but Chelly was the only one who would see her bare face.

"I'm good. Things are a little stressful, but that's life you know."

He let out a hearty laugh. His belly jiggling as he did. "Of course, of course. Ok, so I only have you for one fight today. You know you had a match with Tess the other day, well today will be your rematch."

Aurora nodded. "Cool, sounds like a plan."

In the ring her name was Venus. She was a fierce fighter who had made a name for herself. She was known for starting from the bottom and being a natural-born fighter. She would win some and lose some and she was ok with that. Fighting was a way to let off steam and it made her feel free and in control.

Her fight ended and she had won. Chelly gave Aurora her money which was just a thousand dollars and she called it night after that. She didn't have any major injuries but her muscles were sore and there were some places on her body that were hit and they pulsed in pain.

All of her frustration about Carson came out in that fight and those emotions aided in her victory. She never told him about this because he would have told her parents. She wasn't too ready to face them about it and have to take on much larger responsibilities in her life because of it.

"Where were you last night?" Caden asked as exited her room the next morning to go down for breakfast.

"What are you talking about I didn't go anywhere last night," she said casually as she tried to walk away from him.

"I checked your room and you were gone." he stepped in front of her. His arms were crossed and that made his muscles bulge against his short-sleeved shirt.

"You may be my new bodyguard and all but checking my room is off the list. That's way too inappropriate. And secondly, I didn't go anywhere last night. Maybe you just didn't look properly, or maybe I was in the bathroom."

"I don't think that that's the case."

"And I don't care about your opinion. Now if you'll excuse me."

At breakfast, she tried to persuade her parents to get rid of him. He was already a thorn in her side and he had not been here for that long.

"He looked into my room without my permission. That's such an invasion of privacy. He's a pervert, I'm calling it. I don't want him anywhere near me ever again."

"Stop being dramatic." her mother said, eating some toast.

"He is supposed to be hard on you and help prepare you for when you take over the business. Now I don't want to hear anything more about this. He is responsible for you and that's final. Understand." her dad said.

Aurora pouted, but didn't say anything and and sent a glare to them before eating quietly.

After the ate she grunted slightly getting up because she was struck in the ribs the previous night. The ache spread through her torso as she straightened herself out.

"What if he doesn't leave but Carson comes back and they both help me."

"Aurora, you need to let it go. Carson has retired and you need to respect his decision, ok."

Her heart dropped at those words. Hearing it really soured her mood. She knew that he wasn't coming back but still hoped that it would happen.

They both got up, done eating and her mother patted her head softly before walking off.

Dejected, she went back to her room, on the way there her bodyguard made sure to make his presence know again.

"You are incredibly selfish." he sneered at her.

"Wow. No way. I wonder why I would be selfish after being raised as a Princess and getting whatever I want for my entire life." her tone was bland.

"So if you're aware of it then cut it out. You can't mature if this is how you behave when you can't get what you want."

Aurora stopped. Her footsteps were silent against the marble floors. The entire house was made of marble with only a few exceptions here and there. They were in the corridor leading to her room and it was completely empty so their voices echoed a bit.

"It's revolting to see a grown woman act like a little child. I would honestly think that you're lacking mentally and need to get it fixed."

"Are you done?" she quirked an eyebrow at him. "It seems that the big bad bodyguard is immune to feelings and sees it as disgusting and weak. Well, guess what pretty boy I don't give a shit. Like if you're obsessed with me then just say that. Now get off my case, shut up and do your job."

Before he could even speak to Aurora walked away. Her hair purposely flicked in his face and she marched to her room.

"Honestly, the nerve of some people. This is why I tend to stay away from men because they're all so stubborn and hard-headed."

Aurora had never been in a serious relationship with anyone for long. She would meet a guy, get interested in him, and then find out he's some womanizing piece of trash or that he's abusive or toxic. She quickly became disinterested in finding a relationship and only focused on herself and fighting. There had been many people who wanted to try and get with her. Whether it be because she was attractive or that she was simply Aurora Fraiser.

Her family was well known around the country for what they did but because of her father's connections, they basically had legal immunity. He has business with some people in high places and that made them untouchable. She was not that well known to be Anthoney Fraiser's child but there were some people that knew and thought that they could get something out of her.

It was always entertaining to see people try and win her over but in the end, she never fell for it. Which was why she also didn't have any friends. She never knew who was with her because of her money and so she remained by herself for most of her life. That was also why she found solace in fighting. Everyone was there to have a good time or make some quick cash. No one cared about titles, where you came from, or what you do. It was one of her escapes from the harsh world she lives in.
