Chapter Eighteen

Savage

Waking up to my alarm clock going off, I whine as I shut it off and try to lay back down for a bit. The weekend went by far too fast for my liking. Plus, who the hell wants to go from a normal teenage wolf to a Tribrid to being the key to saving the world? Not this girl!

Oh, please remember also to continue my normal day activities. Because the world may end if I miss any school, or so auntie Skyler thinks.

“Savage, are you out of bed yet?” Auntie Skyler yells from downstairs.

“For goodness’s sake, Auntie Skyler, give me a minute!” I grumble as I drag myself out of bed, feeling the weight of the world — quite literally — on my shoulders. As I shuffle to the bathroom to get ready for school, I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror. Dark circles under my eyes, a haunted look that seemed to have taken permanent residence on my face; I barely recognize myself anymore.
