109. I'll kill you too, Alpha Zach!
Jade's POV
I followed him into the darkness. If this was any other situation, I would be cowering away. Looking for an excuse to avoid stepping into this black maze full of unanticipated demons in every shape and form.
However, I was not the old Jade who used to scream at the feel of a spider crawling up her back. I was a tortured woman turned into a temporary grim reaper. I had no scythe or a black cloak. But my powers made me no less.
Stanley Archibald didn't feel my presence while I was hard on his heels. He had slowed down, taking his time to walk carefully through the bumpy floor with outgrown roots. It wasn't until he sagged against a tree to catch his breaths that I sighed loudly.
Making sure that my presence was made known, I spoke, "You didn't realize but you brought me to a location similar to where you had me pinned naked on the ground some hours ago."
I stepped into the line o
110. One last requestJade's POVThe accumulating heat in the pit of my stomach turned my vision blurry with need. His throat throbbed in my grip as his gaze smiled. It lodged a punch of weakness in my chest. I could feel his lips dancing with a teasing smirk behind the vines.I let his throat go like letting go of a naked wire before it electrocuted me. Raw fury engulfed the entirety of my body as I looked up at his face again. My heart was punctured and bleeding to remorse. Yet all he had to do was smirk like he fucking owned me and knew the effect this situation was having on me.Feeling the flames of betrayal lick and slurp at my heart, I found the sharpest twig from around. The area was bathed in a startling, radiant glow. Allowing me a clear look of his face and around me. Birds chirped welcoming the new morning while here I darted the pointed end of the twig straight at his heart."Infidels deserve death." I punched out fro
111. Move on, Zach Zach's POV 5 years later, "Alpha Zach," I looked up from my laptop towards the door. Nathan was standing with a crying Lelah in his arms. At once, I got up and closed the gap between us. Taking Lelah in my arms, I kissed her hair and held her gently to my chest. "She's been crying a lot. She refuses to go to school." Nathan said while Lelah hid her face in my chest. "Is that true, bunny?" Lelah reluctantly looked up and blinked her wet lashes. "You loved to go to school, didn't you? Why would my sweet bunny baby say no to going to school today?" I took her to my desk and sat her down next to my laptop. She loved cookies so I carried them everywhere with me. Or had them stored in a jar around me. My daughter was sensitive to harsh tones and dark glares. Sometimes I unexpectedly scared her, bringing tears to her shiny doey orbs. Hence, I kept cookies with me to make sure my daughter was distracted from my rare outbursts... But scary ones. "Hey, is something
112. Be a good boy, Zade Jade's POV My legs quivered and the tautness in my knees made my stride slower. I placed a hand on my heart and pushed myself to hurry towards the Principal's cabin in Zade's school. My son is four, but every now and again I am summoned to his school to deal with the problems he creates for me. And the Principal rang me up not twenty minutes ago while I was working in the farms. She said it was an emergency and she sounded scared as hell. "Mrs. Watchman," I set the door ajar and stepped inside, panting. "Hey, mom! You're quite early this time." Zade was sitting cross-legged on the couch in Principal Watchman's cabin to her right, giving me a lopsided smile that reminds me of someone I left behind five years ago. He lifted his tiny right hand to salute at me when I noticed his burst knuckles. Fear roused up in my chest and I rushed towards him. On autopilot I collapsed to my knees and took both his hands to assess if he had more injuries. "Oh dear, what h
111. Stubborn baby Jade's POVThe ride back home was silent as I refused to let Zade's cuteness melt through my determination. Although he tried using his ways with me, I was still his mother. I picked him up and went home like that while he faked loud cries and tried to be stubborn. I dropped him in a chair placed across from the countertop in the kitchen. He aggressively threw his bag and sat cross-legged, his hands folded tightly against his chest as he pouted infuriatingly. "What makes my boy so angry?! Jade, did you do something?" I was washing an apple to give to Zade as his afternoon snack as a way of punishment when Turley walked in with a bag full of groceries. The woman brought an instant smile to Zade's face. He stood up on the stool and opened his arms wide. Turley took him gladly and wetted his face with kisses. She ruffled his hair and sat him down on the countertop as she listened to Zade's whispers. Rolling my eyes, I cut the apple into pieces. Turley has spoiled m
114. Zach's off to San Francisco Zach's POV The meeting with the Unholy Allies came to an end after six long hours of discussion. We came to an agreement to issue a warning to the fuckers who think they can take over the reins of the United States from us. Although Xan and Rogue voted in favor of blasting their headquarters and to put an eternal end to their threats. Conor, Evan and I voted to adopt nonviolence as our first move. We haven't had big wars in the last five years. Just some bickering and shoot-outs here and there. We didn't lose men or money over fights earlier and I don't want us to lose any now. So it's only fair to give the soldiers some respite from blood baths. I came back home in the early morning at two. The sky was dark and full of twinkling stars. I didn't think twice before taking myself to Lelah's room where she was cutely snuggled in her blanket. With my hands going on either side of her shoulders on the mattress, I bent down on her to kiss her forehead
115. Zach meeting Zade Zach's POV"Come on, let's get going. We need to find your uncle's house too." I shook my head and started to move.Rogue hung there, watching the boy and how he gently cared for the ducklings. He talked to them as if they were his friends and they could understand what he was saying."Rogue!" "He's really cute." He was tempted by the kid and his cuteness so much that he couldn't bring himself to move."What's your name, boy? Do you live around here?" I folded my hands across my chest and observed my friend as he attempted to make the boy talk.He was enjoying assisting the ducklings. Rogue tried again and this time the little boy huffed and put his hands on his waist, giving him a skeptical stare. "I told you I don't talk to strangers! Why are you irritating me? Is that because you want to kidnap me? Drop the idea because it's not happening. I am not a normal kid as you probably think I am." My lower jaw went slack in a moment of disbelief. I batted my lash
116. Her new lover! Jade's POV"I know you like me too, Jade. Stop pretending like you are still in love with that asshole father of your son!" I ceased all motions and lifted my darkening face."Say that again?" I raised an eyebrow as my fingers tightened around the knife I was using to cut vegetables.Today is Sunday and this stupid man I have irritating me in my kitchen came here to drop the vegetables from our farm. He is Audrey, one of the workers working on the ranch for Turley.Dirty blond hair, dark blue eyes. He claimed that the other girls find him entrancing. He stood two inches taller than me. I dropped the knife as I was afraid I might just use it on him if he didn't stop being annoying. "I don't think I said anything wrong." He walked closer and took my hand."Let go before I kick you in the balls, Audrey." I growled and attempted to take my hand back. He's a year younger than me and the first time we met, I collided into him. He saved me. But that was not the end of i
117. A letter to dad Zach's POV Bloody asshole Rogue. I used to like the fucker earlier. But now I want to kill him with my bare hands. I am stuck here in San Francisco because of him. Stuffing my hands in my pocket, I strolled inside the park and settled down on a bench. The early afternoon sun left my back clammy. And yet, I chose to sit on a bench that scorched my ass. Kids were all around me, playing and making noise. They made me miss my daughter. But hell. There's no way I could go back home and hug her. It will have to wait, for I don't know how long, because some real rogues followed us into San Francisco. They're causing damage to property and humans around the county which is not good for the people. They believe they're some normal burglars. Henceforth, we are forced to stay back and eradicate every rogue that has followed in before everyone starts getting suspicious. Not us actually. Rogue is taking care of them with the help of Conor and his soldiers. Whereas I a
