Chapter Sixteen

Koray POV

I push Jordan deep behind the veil. I hated doing it, but it was for Cassidy’s best. I was the only one who can truly protect her. I focus back on Lani and Cassidy. They were scared. Didn’t Cassidy know she didn’t have to be scared of me. I take a step toward my mate and it feels weird. I’ve never had so much control over Jordan’s body before. It was odd being in a human body completely. My natural urges screaming for me to shift, but I won’t. Not unless I need to.

Walking over to Cassidy, Lani is frozen beside her. I could feel how scared she was, even her wolf didn’t dare to come forward, to go against me. They knew it was a loosing battle. I grab Cassidy’s arm and she tries to fight back.

“No! Leave me alone.” She screams at me, scratching at my arm and drawing blood. I watch as the scratches quickly heal. Another perk of being a werewolf.
