The sound of the door creaking behind them as they stepped in filled the room. Echo stood by the door, a hand on her hips while she tapped on the floor with her legs.

“It must feel weird to be back here, Gonzalo.” She said with a faint smile.

Weird? It felt worse than weird. This was where it all happened. Here, with River, under the soft sheen of the moonlight that streamed through the grimy window. He could almost picture her there again.

Standing there, exuding youth innocence and throwing herself at him. Him being a dick and unable to resist. He could still remember that night. Hell, he could picture it like it was yesterday.

Maybe because it’d been haunting him for a while now. But why this room of all rooms? Had Echo forgotten?

He forced a smile. "Weird," he managed to say. "Weirder than I thought it would be. Would it be possible for me to have another room?”

Echo’s smile faltered. “Another room? Gonzalo, you know that’s impossible. We just took in survivors
