Maxine's Curse

MAXINE pov

I heard footsteps as someone walked down the stairs. Without giving it a second thought, I pushed Russell to the couch and tightened my grip. If that was the female, I needed to figure out a way to keep her away without making her suspicious.

The mutt was supposed to take her away before the elders arrive, but I knew she would return eventually. The poor girl seemed to have feelings for my new puppet, but once i make something mine, i never give it away.

I looked back as she came in sight, I watched her smile fade and lines appear on her forehead as she watched me strangle him. "Russell!" She yelled as she ran toward me. I looked down at him as I strangled him. He should know that I let him kill me the first time for a reason.

"What are you doing? Let go!" She continued to irritate me. She held my hands and tried to pull me away but couldn't. After failing continuously, she turned back to stare at the awful looking mutt. "Theo do something, he's not breathing!"
