The hunt

One leg after the other, one puff after a huff, I kept running deeper and deeper into the supposed woods. After what seemed like forever, I stopped. How the hell was I supposed to find anything in such a huge space? I placed my hand on a tree in an attempt to rest. I just couldn't stop, that would mean letting those people die.

It was nerve-wracking to watch Maxine fall to the floor, even when she didn't die. Taking a human life would be much more traumatic. Humans huh? I had already started addressing them like the being that I was. A vampire, a killer, a blood-sucking creature. Of all supernatural's why did I have to be the one I hated so much?

Blood, the sight of blood terrified me. But now I'm forced to feed on the same thing I hate. Feeding on Maxine not only made me feel alive, but I felt good about it too. The sensation was nothing I had ever experienced.
