Delilah sat close to her window overlooking the side of the place where people— demon people were practicing for their dance, and if what she was seeing was what it was, then it looked more like they were preparing to walk their way in and seduce the blood out of people.

"They would probably do that." Eriel said from behind her.

"You can read my mind?" Delilah asked, her face starting to turn red.

Eriel laughed and shook his head. "No, I don't. You said that out loud, but you didn't notice. It would be lovely to know what runs through your head, though."

"Stop teasing me now." Delilah rolled her eyes and turned back to the window.

She had gone to her house to see her dad and brothers. Instead she saw her aunt Demarr. Not that she was surprised, since her mom said that Demarr had come around.

They had a chat for about ten minutes, and Delilah managed to stop Demarr from calling the police to inform them of her sudden reappearance.
