Chapter Six (Saraya's POV)

"You know since I have the power to cajole fire, it would be wise to not aggravate me any further…" I said through clenched teeth. He paused his long strides which I suspect he was doing to annoy me, leaned into me, and lowered his face to stop about an inch away from mine.

"I hate to burst your bubble, love, but your powers do not work on me," he said in a somewhat conspiratorial whisper, only he was mocking me. I glowered at him.

At least that was what I thought I was doing with my narrowed gaze levelled at him but I couldn't stop darting my eyes from his lips to his eyes. The attraction between us was potent.
