6: Not even if I do this to you?

I was barely done with my words when his door was swung open. We both turned our heads in the direction of the door. A woman in an overflowing robe walked in and her jaw dropped. The guards that accompanied her waited outside Damian’s room for her.

She approached me and cupped my cheeks, turning my face side to side, “Oh my goddess, look at you!” she frowned and turned to Damian, “have you lost it? Look at the state she is in, all bones and tattered, have you no sense of responsibility?”

“Mum, what do you think you are doing?” Damian finally spoke since she had come in.

His mother? It explained why there was no aura of fear in her. She looked so hot, and young I would have thought she was his sister.

She turned to the door and yelled on top of her voice, “Melanie?!”

A woman in a green dress walked in hastily with her head bowed.

“Melanie? Give her a proper change of clothes, feed her, and a take her to one of the nice rooms to sleep in.”

I didn’t know why she was doing any of that for me but I absolutely agreed

.

“This way ma’am,” Melanie said, leading me out of the room. The only thing that crossed my mind was the fact that I would be getting fed. I didn’t care to ask an questions.

Damian.

I was in shock when she started out the rejection, so much that I had been unable to process my mother’s presence.

“I think I’ve been letting you off the hook a little too much, why did you do any of that?”

She ensured the doors were locked before breaking her silence, “oh please,” she rolled her eyes, “you know you would have stopped me if you wanted to. I just did what your ego wouldn’t have you do.”

She leaned in closer to me, “She’s your mate, isn’t she? That’s why you brought her here. There’s no other explanation for why you would have brought a stranger into the pack house especially if they were found on our territory.” She clapped her hands in delight, “all our problems are finally over, we have nothing to worry about.”

“I’m not going to be mated with her,” I said and before I could say more, there was a slap on my face from my mother.

“She is a goddamn omega, a fucking rogue.”

“You have lost your mind, you will not reject her, the moon goddess makes no mistakes, she is damn beautiful, if you reject her, I swear you will lose me as your mother that very day.” She glared at me one more time before taking her leave from the room.

I tried to process everything that had just happened. Seeing her cry was a pain that grind through my bones I wanted to avoid it forever.

I called in one of the guards, “let me know everything about where she will be staying.

Kira

Melanie led me into a room that was half the size of Damian’s, I wondered just how many rooms had to be in a palace this huge. It had everything I needed, a bed and a small bathroom.

'Mel, we finally have a place for ourselves!' I said once we were alone. Melanie had brought me a few dresses that were my size and a full course meal I'd gulped down in seconds.

'I'm not talking to you.' Mel retorted.

'What? Why? We finally have what we wanted?'

'You almost rejected our mate?!'

'i had to!'

'I haven't accustomed to being a rogue, losing our mate would be too much for me to bear.'

I knew she was right.

'I'm sorry, at least there is one sane person in here that seems to like us! And we are far from Faye and her madness,' I shuddered from the thought of Faye.

'I don't know what we're supposed to do here, it's so clear Damian doesn't want us, he's the alpha king! And he has his crazy brother.'

I decided to get all the thoughts out of my head and get a well deserved rest.

I crashed into my bed when a knock came on my door. I sat up with a frown, "Melanie?"

There was no response and the knock persisted, this time a lot more harsher than it was before.

Fear took over me, what if it was Damian's brother back again.

I hoped whoever it was would go away if I didn't respond but they didn't stop, it was almost like they were heading to pull the door off its hinges.

I looked around for anything to defend myself with. I took the head of a bedside lamp and slowly reached for the door, keeping Mel close and ready to take over if we had to attack.

I placed the lamp head behind me, reaching for the door knob. It twisted and turned before I got it, and the door swung open.

I raised the lamp head above my head, ready to swing when his hand came clamped over my mouth.

It took a few rapid heart beats to realise it was none other than Damian.

With widened eyes, I tried to calm my heart. Mel on the other hand was thrown in a trance, enchanted by his presence.

He closed the door behind us.

"What are you doing here?" I still had fear for him but I didn't want him to think I was phased by him in any way.

"What are you planning on doing with that?" He stared blankly at the lamp.

Fuck, the voice that made me lose my senses.

"I… I…"

He took it out of my hand and breeched the distance between us. "In fact," why was he speaking in such a low voice it was almost a whisper, "I came here because I wanted to know why you almost rejected me."

I held my breathe as he leaned forward, tucking my ear behind my ear, sending visible goosebumps down my spine. "No one has ever rejected me, ever."

"Maybe I don't want you," I swallowed, wondering how I could pull off such a lie without stuttering.

"That's a lie," he whispered, running his fingers through my hair.

I turned around, "you should take your leave, I don't want to have anything to with you." It was better to play safe.

He wrapped his arms around me from behind, leaning his face into my neck and pulling me closer until I was pushed against his crotch. "Not even if I do this?" He turned me around to face him, staring into my eyes for a split second before parting my lips with his own.
