1: The strangers
JANESVILLE IN THE PRESENT DAYI walked towards the cafeteria with Alessa and Karina, feeling a bit nervous all morning since it was our first day of our last year in school. We wanted to make the most out of every day because once we graduated, we'd miss all of this. Maybe even ourselves. The cafeteria was already a bit crowded, but we managed to spot an empty table in the back. The perfect spot."Let's get lunch," Karina said.We nodded at Karina, who was petite and dark-haired, the quiet one of the group. Luckily, there was no line since everyone had already gone through. We picked up our respective lunches and headed to the table."Well, I heard that the guys from the team are single, that gives us an advantage," Alessa, with her long black hair and envy-inducing crystal blue eyes, sat across from me. And yes, she was the flirt.Karina sat beside me."A table was empty in the center," Karina complained, pouting a bit."We're fine here, aren't we?" I said, ta

2: Gigi
Upon arriving home, I searched for Mom but couldn't find her, assuming she was still at work. I left my bag on the couch and headed to the kitchen as my stomach growled for food. I made myself a sandwich and poured a glass of milk, sitting on the kitchen counter, ready to eat.My thoughts drifted to today's events, that boy. His gaze, his smile filled with mockery and amusement—had we met before? Was it possible? I shook my head, dismissing the thought. If we had, I'd remember. Perhaps he just resembles someone else, that's all. After finishing my meal, I went to my room, sat at my desk, and opened my computer. I checked Facebook for any messages or requests and found one from Alessa."I'll call you in 5."I furrowed my brow. In five what? Hours, minutes, seconds? Assuming it meant seconds, I saw she was inviting me to a video chat. I replied immediately."I bet Karina finally released you," she started once connected. She sat at her desk, filing her nails."You guessed right," I repl

3: Nervous
"How did you know that?" I turned to him, it was impossible for him to know! He had just come today! How on earth could he know? I was sure not even my friends knew, was he some kind of spy?He shrugged as he picked up the milkshake that Gigi had just placed for me."Don't worry," he pointed, "It's already paid for."And he left, walking towards his table where his brothers and my friends were watching us closely.I remained pensive, wondering who that boy truly was and why he knew several things about me that he shouldn't know. I mean, we had just met today, right? We had only just met today; it was impossible that we had seen each other before because if we had, believe me, I'd remember.Alessa gestured for me to come over, so, hiding my nervousness, I walked over to where they were."What did he tell you, Afael?" Karina asked me in a whisper as I sat beside her."Tell us," urged Alessa. I glanced quickly at Afael, who was talking to one of his brothers, and as if sensing my gaze, h
