17. KATE'S FAITH

Kate held some books to her blossom. Walking fast to get to where Sarah was. Seeing how far the distance was from where she was to where the Hall was located. She decided to take a short cut or rather what she thinks it's the fastest route. Turning to her left she walked for a while before she crossed a place that people don't frequently pass through.

The road was lonely, as it was near the woods. Kate held her textbook tightly to her chest, as she took a deep breath, wondering if it was okay passing through. Many people have complained about seeing animals lurking around, especially wolves. Although she did not know how true those words were. But seeing how Sarah would be waiting for her. She shut her eyes tightly before opening them. What was left was a look of determination, as she crossed the narrow road, she kept her fingers crossed, praying silently. But her feet were faster now, compared to before.

She had just reached the edge and just a few steps would take her out of there. But a voice caught her attention. A voice called her name.

“Kate” The voice was slightly weak. But Kate heard it clearly. Turning to the side, on the ground. A young man lay there covered in blood. At first Kate wanted to scream with all her might. For a moment she began to believe that the woods were indeed dangerous.

“Shh. Don't shout. You would attract attention!” Now for some reason when Kate heard this voice. The voice sounded more familiar to her. Looking more, she gasped immediately. An image of a person registered in her head.

“J-john. What are you doing here? And you are covered in blood.” Kate asked in concern. Of all the people, she would never have thought that the one being covered in blood was John. One of the school's handsome and hottest boys.

John lay there weakly. Despite being covered and beaten brutally, he still smiled brightly.

“Come over here for a moment Kate. I really need to tell you something.”

Kate looked at him vigilantly. Although she knows him. But she did not know what sort of person he was. He might be something dangerous. That's why he is like this.

“What do you want to say? Say it here, I'm all ears.” Kate raised her guards up, her eyes occasionally darting around.

“Hehehe. You are Sarah's friend right? And I follow Sarah's sister. Trust me I am not any monster. So you don't have to keep your guard up. I don't bite.”

Kate looked on. And for some reason she scolded herself. She didn't know why she was vigilant around him. She had been trying to get to Kate, Sarah's sister. Because she was a huge fan of hers. And one of Kate's friends is on the ground injured. This is supposed to be one of the best opportunities for her. Not only would she get to Kate and collect some pictures and autographs, but she might be closer to the school's hottest guy.

No, she will get too much attention. So she preferred the first one.

Looking at John. Knowing that she doesn't have a lot of time. Sarah was waiting. She went towards him and bent down so that she could reach his height.

“Bend closer. I want to whisper something that you should help me to tell Sarah. Remember those words darling.” Hearing this Kate bent further so her ear was facing him. John's eyes glowed red. His eyes went straight to her collarbone. They smelt nice for some reason.

So she is a virgin down there. John smirks in thought. Him referring to her as a virgin didn't mean she has not slept with any man or whatever. But he couldn't see any invisible Mark. That vampire marks, when they are drawing blood. This means her blood was fresh and untainted. And John just happened to have the opportunity to do so. Her blood would go a long way for him.

With that, with no hesitation he drove straight to her collarbone with his fangs out and sharp. His hand held her cheek to keep her stable.

Kate flinched when something like a needle entered her. It was painful at first but later she didn't feel anything, only that she felt her blood leaving her.

He's biting me. And he's drawing out my blood. This realization made Kate vigilant, she tried freeing herself, shouting and screaming for him to stop. But she was held firmly, and he didn't let her go. This continued for a while, when she thought she could take it no longer and her vision began to blur. John pulled out from her. His body and wound are now healed and strong. He felt he would upgrade his power any time soon. Thinking about this made him happy,but it didn't affect his cloud of judgement. He held her face between his hands. He needed to perform the ritual of memory clearing. So she could not remember anything that happened. He begins to murmur weird languages. His eyes glowed white. But something happened. Normally when performing a ritual like this, the other party's eyes also have to turn white, that way the ceremony would be completed and he would be able to wipe away whatever memory he chooses to wipe off. The same thing happened before he could remember when Sarah almost lost herself and exposed everyone. He was the one that did the work of clearing out every human mind. He has been doing this. He did it yesterday, and did it this morning too. So while the heck is she immune to his spell. Even when he has recovered and his power has taken a long leap. Power he was going to cultivate for six months, he got it within how many minutes..

“Y_ You are a vampire! You are a vampire!!” Kate's voice drew his attention. He looked at her, with no other option. He strikes her neck, making her fall down. Dead or alive no one knows.
