Summer’s pov
Summer holidays were over and now we were resuming a new session, I had planned out during the holidays to make my year in senior high better than my sophomore. I was bullied because of my gloominess and nerdy glasses, ever since I got to be Ashton’s girlfriend, everything had changed.
Staring at the beautiful gift bracelet I had gotten for him, I smiled with so much joy, imagining the bright smile and tender kiss he would place on my lips. As part of our anniversary gift, I also planned to give him myself.
“Summer?” Aubrey called from downstairs. “You’re taking an entire year to get dressed.”
I could tell from her tone she was tired of waiting and definitely had her lips pouted into a frown.
“I’m coming, give me another-“
“I can’t spare another second, if you aren’t down right now, I’m leaning you!” Sje interupted me, her voice loud as a bulldozer, grabbing my purse, I shoved the gift into it and took a Quick Look at myself in the mirror before getting out of my room. “Shall we?” I smiled widely once I was in sight, trying to lift the frown off her face.
“Thought you were going to spend another eternity there.” She rolled her eyes, walking behind me as we made our way out of the house, locking it behind. Aubrey had been my best friend since kindergarten, our moms were high school pals and she was the one person that deeply understood me, unlike me sje was very pretty and made lots of friends wherever she went.
“Are you sure he’s going to like it?” I asked her while we got into the car, I was nervous and she could see it even though I tried to mask it with a smile.
“Of course Summer, there no need to panic, or your anniversary with him so be at ease.” Sje reachednput to my hand, curling it on her hand, letting the warmness wrap my fingers. “You two have been together for a year, stronger than a rock, what makes you think it will come crumbling down?”
She’s right! I didn’t really have a reason to fear him rejecting my gift, this wasn’t the first time I was gifting him.
Taking a deep sigh, I nodded, trying to convince myself that everything would be fine.
My phone rang from a notification, staring down,!85 was a message from Ashton
“You coming to Bri’s party?”
Going there was the last thing I wanted, Bri was one of Freya’s friends who made my life a living hell, even though I was with Ashton and was basically untouchable, I could still feel them sneer at me.
“Will be right there.” I replied, shoving my phone in my pocket.
“Oh two love birds.” Aubrey threw her head back teasingly. “I’m jealous.” Sje pouted her lips, lines creasing on her forehead.
“Don’t act like you’re not in relationship with Brian.” I joked, trying to lighten the mood, brushing off the uneasy feeling creeping me. As we drove, my mind kept racing, I thought about how much Ashton meant to me, how he had saved me from the shackles of bullying, I was going to enjoy my time with him tonight.
Arriving at the party, the music blew loudly, I could see it already started and people had begun to dance erotically, while others played ping pong, some getting themselves drunk but my hand was curled into Aubrey’s, I couldn’t let go of her right now. By my shaking hands she could tell how nervous I was.
Squiring my hands lightly, she whispered. “Just be yourself girl, we already talked about it.” Sje smiled, her bright hazel eyes matching her blonde curly hair, packed into a bun, curly strands on each side.
Walking inside, Bri’s familiar face was hoisted on a pan we on one of the rails. “Sje really wants to put it in our faces huh?” Aubrey rolled her eyes, glancing at her phone before turning to me. “You think you’ll be okay? I’m meeting up with Brian.”
I nodded, forcing a smile, I didn’t want to have her worry, I’m a grown ass lady, it’s my final year in high school, what should I act like a paranoid kid? “Sure, I’ll meet up with Ashton as soon as I find him.”
She gave me a quick hug before scrambling her way through the crowd, as much as the house was quite big, I couldn’t understand why this place was so crowded. Sighing I made my way up the stairs which seemed like the only place where no one seemed to come.
I caught sight of Trey Winston, the school’s top basketball play, his dark eyes that instilled fear in me, the moment I get sight of them, his intimidating height and his cold gestures, no one dared mess with him. His team hardly ever hung with him because of how hot tempered he was. There was a rumor he had beaten up a guy last summer break for pouring him some juice, and now he’s bedridden.
Trey came from a rich family, owners of the top multi commercial company in the country.
Trey was leaning on the wall, a bottle of alcohol in his hand, gulping down the content with big gulps like he gave no care in the world.
Walking past him felt like a weight was lifted off me, Ashton was on the basketball team but he never liked Trey’s guts and had no armed me to stir away from him.
Taking out my phone, I texted Ashton while walking through the hallway, my hands shaking.
“Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!” I heard chants come from a room, whose jaw was slightly ajar, looking around curiously to make sore no one was watching me, I peeked through the small space, staring at a ground gathered around, clapping in their hands as they cheered on two others who seemed to be in an intimidate session, they were having a truth or dare game form the setting I could see.
About to walk away something caught my eye, the guy kissing the girl, I leaned closer to the door, trying to get a better look when my heart dropped.
“Ashton?” I mouthed, both of them turned their heads to the door, Freya arched her brows in panic, so did Ashton.
That bastard cheating on me?
Summer’s POV Why the hell was Freya here? Our eyes met and she stared at me with nothing but disgust. “That bitch is really living with you? So the rumors are true.” Freya crossed her hands over the other, glaring at me before shifting her gaze to Trey.“What are you doing here? I told you things between us is really over.” Trey frowned his lips at her, giving her a once over look before walking closer. She pushed herself to him, smirking. “You really think things would end between us that easily? I love you Trey and there’s no way you can actually fling me away.” She protested, pouting her lips, leaning close to him. “You and I will be coming back together.“Why do you have the access code? I thought I had changed it.” Trey frowned, still not giving in to her manipulative talk.I on the other hand wanted to push her far away from my mate but didn’t want things to be too obvious around the house, my fists clenched by my side. That good for nothing bitch really thinks she can play whi
Summer’s pov“What are you doing?” I asked meekly, my heart literally in my throat at this point, his wet hair letting water drop on his shirtless tattooed skin and for a moment I was distracted by their intriguing designs, the water droplets trailing down his skin making it glistened under the room light. His eyes darkened but staring deeper into them, I could catch a hint of anger but they faded away almost immediately.“How did you get in here?” He asked again, hiss. Pics was hoarse but it had a soft tone to it.I darted my eyes away, my legs almost giving out staring at the gun aimed at me, my lips parted open to speak but I could barely make out a word.“I…it’s my room.” I stuttered. He arched his brows, staring intently at me like ne was in disbelieve.”why I you mean-“The door suddenly swam open, both our beds turned to see who it was and there my savior was standing at the doorway with an unmoved look on his face. “Come here Summer, you walked into the wrong room.” Trey stretc
“That’s what I thought, get into the car.” Trey gestured towards me, his body towering over me in an intimidating manner. Thoughts of the crazy ride I had in the car with him crossed my mind. Walking away, I got into the car with a grumpy expression, looking out the window and trying my best to pretend he wasn't there. I hated myself for letting myself get into this mess. The more I thought I was going to get myself out, the more I got entangled in this shit! The drive home was silent, I couldn’t tell if he was pissed at me or something else, I wanted him to at least talk, tell me I sucked at spreading my legs to get fucked by him, snap at me, just something… anything but the silence I was faced with.“Want to get something on our way?” he finally asked, breaking the silence. I slowly glanced at him, the angry lines on his face had disappeared, a thin smile on his lips as he spoke. I nodded my head. “There's no need for that.”“School was exhausting and I know most of your strength
Summer’s pov The rest of the day was chaotic, i was barely able to walk thanks to how rough Trey was, in his words, he was trying to show i was his.I regretted doing this, I didn't care if we were mates but now we were siblings… step-siblings, I needed to back away from doing anything that could ruin my mother’s marriage, her happiness mattered a lot to me.“Hey!” Audrey's voice echoed behind me, my body froze in shock as I pulled Trey’s jacket tighter around me and turned to her with a small smile. “You didn’t go home?”“I felt a little better.” I replied, thanks to a few unbearably nice rounds from Trey, it was absolute heaven but he was going to roughen me up if we went any further.“I see.” she gave me a once over glance like she knew what I was up to. “Youve been… busy without me lately.” She folded her hands on her chest, her lips curved int a frown.“Thats not true.” I let out a nervous chuckle.“Well I certainly do not know so much about you lately.” she glared.“I will tell
Summer’s POV Picking myself up, I scampered into one of the stalls and locked the doors, my body trembling in fear .I could hear Ashton grunt in pain from the punch he was reviewing from Trey.“Get off me.” Ashton grunted in pain, his voice barely audible.“How dare you touch her with those filthy hands?” Trey roared, hearing him continue to beat him up left a sore feeling in my throat, getting out of the stall, I quickly made my way to them, standing between Trey and Ashton who was barely conscious.“It’s alright, I don’t want you to get in trouble.” I begged, hoping things won’t escalate further seeing how angry Trey was. Asides being the best player on the team, he’s also quite a strong fighter that no one dared cross. “Please…”“Let me beat up this pathetic bastard!” Trey tried to punch him again but I stood between them again, staring at him with pleading eyes.It was already enough that I’m in this disdainful state. I didn’t want any more situation or attention, I traced my ey
Summer’s POV Did I hear wrong? My mom moved my things? Without informing me? When? Before I could ask more questions he was already out of the cafeteria, my throat went dry and my head was ringing with unease. I understand my mother was money driven but to the extent of moving on so fast without bothering to carry me along? It tore my heart to shreds, even though I was her literal nightmare, I still deserved some update rather than being told later on.unsure what to do, I went about my day, I could figure it all out later. I had lost my appetite and made my way out of the cafeteria, walking towards the classroom, hoping to escape the hoards of students in the hallway.“Summer.” I heard Ashton call my name, I froze, it snapped something on me, the nostalgic feeling of having him around, I turned around, my eyes dancing around the almost quiet hallway until I finally caught sight of him. I scrunched my face into a frown. “What do you want?”He riled his eyes , hands shoved in his pock
