His eyes grazing her face with utter aggression, lips twisting and turning in annoyance, Ethan clutched his fingers into a fist by the side of his waist.
She forgot she was nervous and frightened some time back. A look of his face and all the words Dylan told to her came rushing into her mind.
He crazily darted her with murderous looks while she sat there on the bench with a fallen, red, teary face.
It was visible she was disturbed about something. It has to be vulnerable otherwise it would not have hurt her so badly that she would avoid him.
Nevertheless, she could directly tell him the same. She could have shared her feelings with him and they could solve it together. But she preferred to do what he hated the most. Ignore him!
"Ava," As Ethan advanced toward her inside the class, she started collecting her stuff.
She was preparing to lea
As a gush of air passed by brushing her hair and tickling her skin, Ava stood there wondering about Noah.'He didn't tell me about coming here. Uh, may be he came here to talk to Dylan about our conversation.'She was biting on her lips while her gaze remained glued to the closed door of Dylan's house as she kept rooted a few yards away from there. Her hands were tucked in the pockets, face slightly red of morning weeping. After having avoided Ethan in school and asking him to give her some space, she had sought to spend some time on the campus by sitting on the green bed of grass under the sunlight. Her idea did not work notwithstanding. Dylan had come today. He was refusing her calls too. She desired to talk to him and ask him why he was like that! And when he refused to take her calls or see her messages, she decided to arrive at his place and talk to him.
Noah's POV"Ava, wait!" Dylan plucked the apron away from his body.He gave a push on my chest and ran behind her, his body plunging toward the door as if the house was on fire. And I... I stood in my place, silent. Quiet with shallow breathing and eyelids stuck atop.Like how a kid reacts after getting caught by his mother while stealing from the candy jar, Dylan behaved exactly the same before he followed Ava out.But I.. I continued to root in my spot. Stilled. Without breathing. With eyes fixed at the door that slapped against the adjacent wall post Dylan pulled it open as Ava walked out of it.I remained silent, emotionless and lost because I could see Ava's reaction play at the back of my head.I had known it forever. I was certain of how my sister would react on knowing that I, he
Ava's POVEmily invited me in. She was petrified after noticing my tears and red face."Here, take this." Her hands supported the glass and led it near my mouth so I could drink from it.My throat has gone dry. Totally dry as you would see a land during a tough summer morning. A land with cracks and no ounce of moisture in it.Thankfully, as the water passed through the pipe in my throat, my increased heart beats calmed down a little bit. It had no effect on my shivering, regardless. My fingers quivered like a window under a stormy rainy day. My lips shook as though I was under severe trauma. So was I. Only I could not believe if it was true or not. What I saw... What I heard was replaying in my mind ceaselessly."Good. Now take deep breaths and try to calm yourself down!" I sought to follow Emily's words, but in vain.
Ava’s POVMy feet shuffled aimlessly on the streets. The dusky dawn was up on my head, clouds turning black. Birds were returning to their nests but here I, I was roaming astray not knowing where to go.I needed space. Above all I did not want to face Noah. The thought of seeing him alone caused me to think back about him and Dylan. How could he even think of being with Dylan? Ugh, could not he just avoid feeling what he may have felt out of his hormones? My shoulders feel heavy. They ached as though they were burdened with the truth from today. It was burdened which I wish to pull off my shoulders and throw far… far away.A lone dark cloud of mockery danced over my head. Great! What I was feeling was not enough to drench me in shame that now this cloud was hovering on my head to drench me in rain?“Huh,” I
44 Ethan's POV "You found her?" Waiting by the side of street near school, I talked to my friend Jack. His sigh was the first answer that came than his reply, "Unfortunately not. I looked everywhere. She is nowhere near her house." "Fuck! This girl will kill me one day." I worried my lower lip between the teeth. "Alright then, thanks buddy. It is almost night. You better head back home, I will search for Ava alone." I said, stretching my hands. My entire body was aching. I have been looking crazily for Ava everywhere in the city where she could go.
45 Her face flushed and eyes looking almost closed, Ava sunk herself in the sofa. She came home right after witnessing Ethan's mom with that woman who had to be her girlfriend. She had gone to meet him so that she could tell him about her pain. Unfortunately, looked like her own boyfriend had same stuff going on in his life. From what it looked, her mother had been seeing this woman under her husband's hand. And today they were breaking up for their husbands. "Yuck!!!" She ground her teeth as she hugged her knees. Looked like every second person in this world was like this, abnormal. They liked people from the same sex, irrespective of how, wrong it was.&
"Miss. Jones, mind telling us about where you are lost? We would love to bring you back to earth so you pay attention in the class." Ava was looking out of the window during the class, when the teacher saw her."Umm, Sorry ma'am." She looked down in her book while the teacher rolled her eyes before resuming her teaching.Ava clutched her teeth tight and raised her head to focus. Her gaze eventually crossed the room and met with the dark pair of eyes that had been staring at her through out.Ethan.He was sitting with Dylan. The two guys were looking at her. Ethan with emotionless eyes while Dylan with sympathy.Ava ignored them both and concentrated on the diagram that teacher was explaining.'I hate them both. They are liars and cheaters.' She played with her pen, still being able to feel Ethan'
Ava retired home after lectures. She had expected at least Dylan to follow her post that event but he didn't. Rather, he and Ethan enjoyed pizza in canteen while she sat alone munching on an apple. She missed all the fun she used to have with Ethan and other. But they were not missing her. They seemed to savour their lives without her.Had she really meant nothing to them?As tears formed again, Ava got inside her room and threw the bag on floor. She was about to jump on bed and cry to herself when she heard noises coming from Noah's room. She was skeptical and didn't want to see him yet her legs dragged her there. And to her dismay, Noah was sitting on floor with a bleeding heel. As she could see it, he had mistakenly stepped on broken pieces of glass that were scattered around on floor."Ughh, this hurts!" she clenched her fingers watching
