The ambush and unexpected attack

"Lukas, where did you find this letter?" he grimaced as he read its contents.

This was troublesome; his master's anger was never a good sign.

"Alpha, it was retrieved from one of our men's shirt pockets after he was killed in our territory," he replied politely, with his head bowed.

"Then why are you still standing there? Arrange my best fighters; we shall attack them by nightfall," he said with a smirk.

Lucas responded, "Yes, Alpha," and left immediately.

Alpha Jaden stood up, pondering the whole scenario.

"These people are really getting on my nerves. What do they want that piece of land for?" he thought.

My grandpa won that land in a fight with their leader a long time ago. Now, why are they ruining the friendship sealed with that piece of land? "They dare to harm us after what they did before. I won't let it slide; they'll see the consequences," said alpha Jaden to no one in particular.

That night, a rule was set: all the clans in the Black Mountains had to be home before sunset. There was an expected disagreement between the Red Fairies Clan and their clan, so everyone needed to stay indoors and not be seen outside.

The alpha of the Black Mountains made a deal for a combat to settle the feud. The winner would be rewarded with a piece of land after the fight.

The conflict started, and the Black Mountains clan emerged victorious, marking the beginning of their friendship. However, after several years, some men from the Red Fairies attempted to harass the women of the Black Mountains while they were in the forest gathering wood for fire.

Despite the women resisting any unwarranted advances, a confrontation ensued between the two groups. Unfortunately, the women lost their lives during the struggle, and their bodies were disposed of in the depths of the ocean.

After that, the friendship between the two wolf clans ended, causing them to strongly dislike each other. The Black Mountains clan vowed to kill any Red Fairies they encountered.

Currently, the Red Fairies are testing the patience of Alpha Jaden, attempting to provoke a reaction because they desire a specific piece of land.

By night fall, the whole citizens of the black mountains were all in their various houses before the sun was down following the rules that was given to them.

Alpha Jaden and his men set up an ambush on the border between their territory and the Red Fairies. They covered themselves in mud, including their faces, and concealed their bodies with fresh leaves in the forest. This allowed them to hide from their rivals by lying on the ground in the thick mud, blending in with both dried and wet leaves covering their position.

The Black Mountains men cleverly set various traps, like sharpened stick traps and rocks tied to ropes suspended above the trees. These traps were designed to easily take out half of the Red Fairies when they entered, even before the main fight.

Alpha Jaden shared the plan with his men, and they swiftly implemented it. Afterwards, they lay silently on the ground, patiently waiting for their rivals to fall into the traps.

That night, the Red Fairies planned to attack the Black Mountains clan in their territory, whether on the road or at their homes. The Black Mountains, however, had made plans without the Red Fairies knowing.

Upon reaching the Black Mountains territory, the forest acted as a boundary, separating the Red Fairies' wolf clan from the Black Mountains' wolf clan.

The Red Fairies were surprised to find the place deserted, unlike before when they would see young men and women walking down the road near the forest. Despite their confusion, they foolishly entered the forest. Alpha Brook of the Red Fairies suggested waiting to observe the surroundings before venturing further into the wild.

Unbeknownst to them, Alpha Jaden and his group, were watching from the forest. They lay low on the ground, moving their heads slowly to avoid detection, silently waiting for the Red Fairies to make their next move so they could strike.

The Red Fairies divided into four groups, each with ten men. Alpha Brook led the first two groups, totaling twenty men, deeper into the forest. The remaining twenty, including Alpha Brook, stayed behind.

Unfortunately, one of the first twenty men stepped on a wooden object, triggering a net trap suspended high above them. In an instant, all twenty men were ensnared in the net trap among the trees. Three long, sharpened arrow sticks pierced deep into their bodies above, and their blood dripped like rain onto the ground.

The remaining Red Fairies stayed back, scanning the entire area to comprehend what had happened to their men. Suddenly, three rocks rolled from above the trees, simultaneously hitting five men and piercing their bodies into the forest. Alpha Brook was left confused about the unfolding events in a twinkle of an eye.

He couldn't understand why the Black Mountains had set traps in the forest against them. Likewise, he knew the Black Mountains were not anticipating an unannounced attack. The confusion led him to question why all of this was happening.

Terrible grammar makes it very difficult to fully understand the story properly which is a pity because I could really enjoy this book.
