MasukChapter 21
Jenna's POV
"WHAT THE HELL!" I hollered, gathering a few servants and Oakley along with mom and dad.
I had an audience. As a respectable Luna Queen, I should've controlled my anger and dealt with this situation behind closed doors. But, the anger brewing in my gut burned hotter than the sun.
"You bloody slût. Take your hands off my husband!" I growled as I got up from the floor.
Liza was hugging Jace's neck. She was looking every bit doting and sounded excited as a wife to her husband, who returned after days. But in our case, I was the wife. Hence, she had no right to look that way.
"I'm sorry, Luna. But I couldn't control myself. You see, Jace and I were very close before you came. This is how I used to greet him. I got carried away today. I'm sorry, I nearly forgot he's a married man now." Liza faked that innocently overly sugary voice of hers as she reluctantly removed her arms from Jace's neck.
Her cheeks were flushed as though she was really embarrassed. But I know what they don't.
Ever since I have come to this castle as the Luna Queen, I've noticed one thing or another about Liza. She's a psycho. Bloody psycho. She had Jace's name inked on her back. And from the maids, I heard that she got that tattoo after I came.
She also has Jace's photo in her room under her pillow. I know this because I once went to her room to talk to her, but she wasn't there; so I decided to look around for clues or anything that would help me throw her out of here. Though I brought that photo with me, she came to my room to demand it back.
Then once she was shamelessly taking pictures of him— while he was training in the grounds— from her window.
That's just a few of her doings that seared my soul. There's more but despite that, I can't get rid of her given she's a sweet innocent person for all.
"Please forgive me, Luna. D-don't punish me. Don't throw me in the dungeons like last time please." She dropped on her knees much to my astonishment.
"You threw her in the dungeons, Jenna?" Jace looked at me with a crease between his brows. "Why? And why wasn't I made aware of that?"
I opened my mouth to answer but Liza beat me to it, "B-because I... I... I had a picture of you hidden under my pillow." Her voice cracked. "You know, the one I always used to keep with me. L-luna found it and assumed the worst, and punished me. But I swear, Jace, I... I only kept the picture because I always had it. It's not like I started keeping it with me after your marriage."
"That would've been ridiculous given you're a married man now." Sob. "I tried to make Luna understand b-but she..." She looked down, leaving it incomplete.
I ground my molars so hard I’m surprised they didn't turn to dust. What a lying bítch she is! That's not why I sent her to the dungeons to punish her.
A maid had come to me, asking me to visit Liza's room quickly. I did and outside her room I froze because she was moaning my husband's name. When I barged in, I found the slút fingering herself while screaming my husband's name.
Later she confessed to doing it because she wanted to irk me. She was basically showing me that I might have Jace to myself now, but once he was hers; and that one day she would have him back to herself. Again. That had exploded my anger and I punished her.
I made her stay in the darkest and dirtiest cellar for two days. I don't think that made any difference to her since she came out whistling when she was released. She had also told me on the mind link, 'None of this is going to scare me, temporary Luna. But this might get you in trouble with Jace.
I wanted to tell Jace the truth but the minute I observed his face, my throat tightened in frustration. He was giving me that 'I can't believe you did that to her for keeping a picture of me' look.
"That's not a reason to send someone to the dungeons, Jenna. You should've discussed this with me first." He said, causing my eyes to shoot up.
"Oh?" I folded my hands. "So, you're saying if you found my panties under my ex-husband's pillow, you wouldn't rip into his throat with your teeth?"
He was caught off guard by my words, "These two scenarios are different from each other, Jenna."
"How so? Explain it to me, Mr. Kingston." It was my turn to frown.
"Liza is my cousin. We have many pictures together. So if you find my picture with her, it doesn't mean she has feelings for me."
"And Chris is my ex. We have stayed together for a few years as well. So if you found him sniffing into my panties now, it wouldn't mean he has feelings for me."
"Jenna!" He growled my name in warning. I can see that he wanted to say many things, but he only nodded his head at me, asking me to stop.
'Let's not do this here. Everyone is watching.' He told me on the mind link.
'You can ask me questions while everyone is here. But I can't punish her without telling you. I t-thought we were equals.' I gulped as tears burned in the back of my eyes.
'We are equal, Jenna. I didn't mean to imply anything otherwise. It's just that... Liza... Me... Us... We shared a tangled and delicate relationship. I was broken after my destined mate died and she was there for me. That bond meant something back then, which is over now. But we are still cousins. I don't want you to pick on her because we shared some time together.' My jaw dropped at his words.
And a teardrop fell out of my left eye too.
I noticed everyone watching me. Above all, I noticed Liza's eyes tracing the tear drop with an euphoric smirk. It fell on my cheek like a slap.
"Oh, so you think I was picking on her because she was your mistress? Fine, if you feel that way, I'll apologize to her." I looked away from him.
Jace immediately began to walk towards me, "Jenna, I didn't—"
"I'm sorry, Liza. I shouldn't have punished you—"
"Jenna, you don't have to apologize. I didn't mean it in that way."
"— I forgot I'm the Luna Queen for the people of the kingdom, not for you... My husband's dear cousin. Rest assured, I will not object to anything you do—”
"Jenna, stop it. Don't misinterpret my words." He caught my arms and turned me towards him.

Chapter 58 Jace's POV We were silent for a long time. Neither of us spoke. Suddenly Jenna lifted her face and eyes me innocently."What?" I chuckled. She nodded in no, "You burned Liza alive."My face stilled. I pulled her closer and joined our foreheads, "I had to. She was the bane of our family."I kissed her."Also," I added. "She made me doubt my wife's intentions. I had to punish her."At that, she hugged me tighter and rested her face on my shoulder. She was sitting straddling my waist while I held her like my toddler baby.My back had healed. Hence, I was able to sit this way.The doctors had been worried because the wound wasn't healing in my state of unconsciousness. That's the reason why they refused to give any answer. But the second I woke up, the wound healed, and all the residue of wolfsbane and silver was eliminated by my immune system."What happened to Chris and that lady?" I suddenly asked as I remembered those two."Both dead. And that lady was Doctor Henry's daug
Chapter 57Jenna's POV 'Thanks, bro. Head towards the Rogues' territory with your team. I'll meet you there.''Roger that!''Okay.'We broke the link. I sucked a sharp breath as I focused on the road ahead. If I drive at high speed, I'll get there in twenty minutes.Jenna, hold on for a while, love. Your husband is coming to get you.(Twenty minutes later)"Jace, finally you're here." Oakley came running towards my car as I applied brakes."Did you find her location?" I was not even fully out of the car."Yes, and already stationed our soldiers around the area." Oakley said, sending a wave of relief through me."Thank, goddess.""Don't worry, Jace. The situation is already in our control." Oakley flashed a shark grin and my eyebrows cocked in confusion. "Chris's soldiers look novice. They are not attentive at all, let alone alert.""I think he brought untrained wolves here. And I must add that his Beta and Gamma are not here either."I acknowledged with a nod, "He's probably doing it
Chapter 56Jenna's POV Jace has never touched her before. He hadn't done it this time either. It's that bìtch who always found ways to go near him.'There's no point in giving yourself false hope, Jenna. Jace isn't the man we thought he was. Accept it.' Gianna said.A feeling of disappointment rose over me. No! My wolf is not right here. She's hurt from Jace's wolf's words, and rest is the impact of wolfsbane.Jace loves us.'You really think that? Then tell me, why didn't he come after us when we left?'he He might have a reason.'No,' Gianna grunted weakly. 'It's because he was bewitched by his mistress's beauty and he chose her instead.'That's not true. I was breathless in anger. Gianna's words struck a chord that it shouldn't have.'I'll prove it to you that Jace still only loves us.'Having that said, I lowered my guard. I had blocked out everyone and their feelings to avoid getting caught. However, as I lowered my guard, I could feel my family's emotions— Jace's first. He was
Chapter 55Jenna's POVI regained my senses at the feeling of stabbing spasms stretching throughout my body. My eyelids were heavy and so I couldn't drag them open. But my other senses were working well.I could hear and smell and feel my surroundings. The air was crackling with the chirping of thousands of crickets, meaning that I was most likely in a forest area; or where there were a lot of trees.I dragged in a deep breath to catch scents, and realized that wood was burning somewhere. Then I heard the noise of fire crackling. A bonfire. I subtly rubbed my hand on the ground and sensed the coarse texture. Soil. All the elements directed to one point, I was in a forest. My eyes felt better now. I was about to open them when, "Hadn't she woken up yet?" A familiar voice asked."No, Alpha Chris. After she turned into her human form while fainting, she's been just like that." Someone said,It wasn't Cleo's voice. Hmm. Perhaps Chris flew all the way to Silent Hills city with a small team
Chapter 54Jace's POV "Let this be a lesson to all those who think they can fool the Alpha King just because I trust them." I announced as I paced around with a flaming torch in my hand. Behind me a pyre was built in the middle of the city for people to watch. On it Liza was tied to a pole. She was drenched with petrol and shaking. Her eyes were red. She begged me to let her go, that she was honestly apologetic. That she acknowledged her blunder and would go away. "My trust has never been a weakness. My willingness to believe in those who stand beside me does not make me blind, nor does my kindness make me a fool. I give people my trust because I choose to see the good in them. Because I consider them my previous ones. But the moment that trust is betrayed, do not mistake my silence for ignorance. And don't ever think that you can outsmart me."I came to a halt. The flames were crackling beside my face. It was night now, the sky was dark with no stars. There were light poles around
