The rest of the day passed in a quiet haze. I was still in Darren's room, even though I didn't feel like staying anymore. I wanted to leave and go to my room. The bracelet still clutched in my palm like it was the only thing keeping me upright. Every time I looked at it, my chest tightened until breathing felt like work.
