Damián Feldman

I couldn't believe what was happening. I sat down while listening to the water fall behind the bathroom door. But what truly unsettled me was the memory of the weight of her body in my arms. It was impossible to ignore.

I despised her. And, at the same time, she attracted me in a way that irritated me even more.

My father's words came back forcefully: "Give me an heir with her." And this was the perfect opportunity to fulfill his request... but in my own way. Not out of loyalty, but out of strategy. I would sleep with her, make her fall, and then use her. I'd back her into a corner. If she wanted to play innocent, I'd show her the opposite, so she would leave my family. I'd make her believe I would report her to my father, accusing her of being a traitor; she'd have no escape.

The water stopped running. I stood up, rolled up my sleeves, and unbuttoned part of my shirt. I slowly pushed the door open.

There she was.

EPILOGUEAmelie MansonOne contraction, then another. The pain tore through me, and I couldn't help but scream."I can't take it anymore, it hurts, and it hurts so much... ahhh!"Damian immediately came closer, taking my hand so tightly that I felt his fingers trembling. His face was so pale he seemed barely to breathe. He looked at me with wide eyes, as if the world were collapsing around him at that moment."Calm down, my love, it won't be long now," he kept saying, although it was obvious his voice was trembling more than mine. The nurses took me to the delivery room. The doctor turned to Damian and asked if he wanted to come in. He hesitated; I saw him paralyzed, and in a thin voice, he replied:"I don't know..."I squeezed him hard, digging my nails into his hand."You are not leaving me alone a second time," I demanded, tears in my eyes.Damian swallowed, took a deep breath, and nodded, fearful but willing to be with me.The labor began. Time ceased to have meaning. It was all s

  • wishing for my husband's child   THE PASSAGE OF TIME

Damian FeldmanTwo long years had passed since everything that had happened at Feldman Corporated, and the recovery was more complicated than it seemed. They were arduous days of work to get the company afloat, and many situations that, fortunately, Amelie and I were able to face together."So what did the contractors say?" Amelie caressed my back, resting her chin on my shoulder."That the deal is a complete success; their investment is secure. Do you know what that means?"Amelie turned and placed her hands on the arms of the chair, looking me intently in the eyes."That Feldman succeeded, that with this investment we have achieved a great business, and we will occupy one of the top five spots in the country's most profitable businesses."I took her face in both hands and kissed her, letting out the pride that flooded me."Exactly, my love! That means... you are a multi-millionaire woman with one of the country's most stable businesses."She smiled sweetly, and without taking her ey

  • wishing for my husband's child   THE UNRESTING DARKNESS

Damian FeldmanAlthough I had tried to completely disconnect myself from the outside world while enjoying my days with Amelie and my son, it was inevitable that bad news would reach me even where I was.We were eating in the restaurant when suddenly all the employees started looking at the televisions in the place and turned up the volume of the news, catching our attention as well.I dropped my cutlery and fixed my gaze on the announcement:"Tragedy at Feldman Corporated, a bomb exploded this Thursday morning..."Amelie looked at me and got up from the table in despair. A deafening ringing pierced my ears."Damian, it's the company." She murmured, and I couldn't even hear her very well.I tried to catch my breath, and the first thing I did was take out my phone and turn it on. Immediately, I dialed Samuel's number, and he answered on the second ring."Buddy, where are you?" he asked, his voice broken."What the hell happened, Samuel? I'm watching the news headlines; what happened?""

  • wishing for my husband's child   UNEXPECTED DESTINIES

Omniscient Narrator"Miss, I already told you I cannot let you in; it's an order directly from the presidency." The receptionist stood in the doorway, blocking the way for Rosalia, who was still holding the gift in her hands. The blonde smiled, feigning cordiality, although her eyes betrayed a disturbing gleam."But I'm the president's sister in this company; you can't impede my passage; I'm going through."The woman, determined, braced her arms against each side of the door and looked her directly in the eyes."Don't make me call security, Mrs. Rosalia; you cannot enter this company."Rosalia's patience snapped. She held the box with one hand and abruptly shoved the receptionist with the other."Don't be ridiculous! Don't you know who I am?! I am a Feldman, and I have rights over this company!" Her words broke into a desperate shout. "And I'm going to blow it up! If you don't let me in."Then, she opened the gift box as if it were a surprise. Inside, the wires and the mechanism of th

  • wishing for my husband's child   EVIL DOES NOT REST

OMNISCIENT NARRATORIt was the fifth cigarette Rosalia was putting out in the ashtray, desperate. The blonde paced back and forth, trying to find calm for her anxiety, but it was impossible. Her hands were shaking, her throat was burning, and her mind kept returning to the same thought: the loneliness in which she had been left.A few days had passed since Damian and Amelie's failed wedding, and they had not given any sign of public appearances. They didn't even go to Feldman Corporated; Samuel and Soraya were taking care of everything while they, in silence, tried to recover from the severe blow that Amelie's kidnapping had meant.Their greatest desire was to consummate that marriage, regardless of the obstacles. And they did so, away from everyone, on an island very close to the city. There, surrounded only by the Manson women and their baby, a priest officiated the ceremony they had awaited for so long. The beach was simple but beautiful. The warm breeze caressed their faces, the e

  • wishing for my husband's child   A BEAUTIFUL RETURN

Damian did not let go of Amelie for a single second during the drive back. She was tangled in his arms, trembling, sometimes crying silently. Beside her, Soraya remained huddled against the window, her eyes red, still unable to process what she had lived through. Neither of them had emerged from the state of shock."Are you sure you don't want us to go to the hospital?" Damian asked with a worried voice. Both denied at the same time."No, Damian," Amelie replied, still with a broken voice. "I just want to see my little son. I can't live without him." She lowered her gaze, feeling the pain of what had happened. "Forgive me for ruining our wedding," she sobbed. He immediately shook his head, pressing her more tightly against his chest."You didn't ruin anything, gorgeous. You forgive me, because for a moment I actually thought you had abandoned me. You have no idea how much I suffered because of that cursed note."Amelie cried heartbrokenly. "It's unbelievable that you didn't recognize
