Chapter Twenty Two
The sky above was full of tumultuous, dark and ragged clouds. Ominous black clouds covered the sky, and released a sudden shower. Thunder rolling in from the west. The morning was cold and wet, with a brisk wind sweeping the rain across the land. On a normal day, the howling wind frightened Raven, but she was too focused, trying to hold back the avalanche of tears that had been building up since the moment she had been angered, her heart was heavy. The weather explained her mood—anger, disappointment and despair. Angry because she was so close to finding out the truth from the old man, disappointed that she didn’t know what to do next, and lastly, all hope was lost. It’s been two days since the incident happened, and Raven barely left her room after finding out what exactly happened to the old man.“YOU STILL HAVE TIME RAVEN.” The soothing voice lingered in her head. Streaming tears cleansed her red cheeks. Few droplets remained, forgetting their way as the path was swept from beneath them, consequently blurring Raven’s vision, with waves of sadness only the broken encounter. The sadness drained through her spines rather than skating over her skin. It travelled through every cell to reach the ground. Next thing she knew she was there, at the front gate, watching France leave in his car. She tried to yell, but her words failed her, they came out weak and cracked. Biting her lip to stop the tears from increasing. Jace was standing infront of her, watching her every move sternly, as though he knew what was going on.After that. She was alone, angry and devastated. Her heart felt butchered, and weak.****The next day wasn’t exactly rosy, Raven retired in bed, none of the maids or her sisters bothered to check up on her, not that she was expecting it. She liked that way. To be alone and think things through. Recalling her dream the previous night, R

He didn’t trust the woman,”besides, I have no reason to lie. There isn’t a reward money.” The detective stood up from the chair, pacing round the room, with his hands behind.“Where did you see the model?” His voice, hoarse and firm. The lady paused for a moment, staring at nothing in particular. “Riverside California.”The detective took his seat after the lady spoke, he knew that was the place Raven grew up, before moving to LA.What was she doing over there? She looked better—stronger—as she sat in a rocking chair, holding her camera and talking to Eleanor, who'd pulled one of the visitor's chairs up close. Raven took a quick glance at the number inscribed on her palm, it was her thirty seventh day in the past. Raven couldn't help but think about how lucky she was, she felt guilty Sarah had be involved. After she recovered, Raven didn't hear from her again. She figured she had been threatened, or she was too scared to speak due to the crash. She understood her perfectly, but at the same time, it was painful. There was still a little pain on Raven's arm, but she was close to full recovery. Her body had to stay fresh.
