It was another day spent with Jack obsessing over that girl. He had been going through some documents, but after a while, his concentration had dropped. The more time went on, it’s like his mind unlocked memories of that day that he had not realized existed. He put down the Gil in his hand and as he was about to take a sip of the coffee Lucy had made him, she burst into his office. No knocking or anything. And there was a big smile on her face. She had something in her hand but Jack paid no attention to it. 

Ana stared at the buttons on the elevator angrily, trying to keep herself under control. The receptionist had made an urgent call, telling her Jack Knight was down at the reception. But what did Ana hear when she went downstairs? That Jack Knight had already gone up. It was weird how she had called to relay the first piece of information, but not the second. Just thinking about it was making Ana even more pissed.She rolled her eyes. Maybe the girl didn’t like her but she didn’t want to come to any hasty situation. Ana was sitting a little rigidly in her seat. She felt uncomfortable. It wasn’t that she didn’t like the place she was in or that she felt insecure about her appearance. No. It was simply because of the man who was sitting opposite her. He was staring at her like his life depended on it.  

Lucy looked at Jack's office from the corner of her eye. The man was not the same anymore. It was like he was a different person all together. He smiled and he even chuckled. Chuckled. Something he had never been fond of doing. She wondered who the hell or what the hell had put him in such a good mood.

Ana stared at the door in shock. She had never imagined for one second that her conversation with Jack would prompt Landon to leave as he had just done. She didn’t know what exactly she had done wrong. It wasn’t the first time she was having a conversation with a potential partner in front of him, and she had been trying to make it short so they could get back to talking.
