Chapter 91- Elnora POV “SYDNEY!” I scream, hoping she hasn’t left yet. “Yes, my Queen?” She asks, returning into the room with a confused Talvin at her side. “Listen to what Merrick has to say.” I insist as I look back to him to retell his story for her. “So, you are telling me that a whole flock of them are in town? Why are they here?” Her attention turns to Lawler. “I am going to look into it and see what is going on. Can you handle that many?” He is concerned about her safety, and it is evident in his words. “Sir, I do not know if I can take on that many at one time and come out alive. Suppose it was only a handful, yes. The possibility of roughly ten or more, I do not know. I am sorry for my uncertainty, sir. I will give it a try, though.” Her dedication to the Kingdom is evident. “No. You are not leaving. It is not worth the risk. You can stay here tonight.” “Tha

Chapter 93- Elnora POV          “Where did you go?” Lawler asks as I walk back into our bedroom. “I needed to check on Sydney.” “Is she ok? What made you think she needed to be checked on?” Pure curiosity spews from his words. “Do you know what you are asking her to do?” I return the question. “To teach us to kill these creatures?” He is confused, as I thought he would be. He hasn’t thought past what he decides on, nor the feelings of another.          “Come sit.” Motioning to the armchairs in front of the fireplace, I move to the one closest to myself as he does the same. “Why did Sydney start killing these creatures?” I begin. “It was after a family member died. She decided to make it a priority and kill these creatures.” “What family member died?” I press. “

Chapter 95 Lawler POV I have just sent everyone to bed for a good night’s sleep and have taken a seat in front of the fireplace. “Ugh, why is this so hard?” I mumble to myself as I begin running grand ideas through my head of what I can say tomorrow at the meeting with the townspeople. “You are not alone. Tell me what you are thinking, and we can see what we can come up with together.” Elnora Speaks to me softly as she rubs circles on my back. “This is above me. I have no idea what to do, Elnora. I do not know what the best thing is to do.” Being as openly honest as I can be, I wait for her reply. “Sydney is not going to teach the people to be murderers; this we know. We also know that we could ask the blacksmith to make swords and have the people do what they can from inside their homes. Then we have the problem of getting Sabastian back safely as well.” I listen to Elnora rattle off the information that we

Chapter- 97 Elnora POV          “Queen Elnora!” Sabastian’s voice booms into my mind waking me from a deep slumber. “What is it, Sabastian?” I ask as I hastily sit up in bed and rub the sleep from my eyes. “He has spies within the Kingdom. I do not know who they are, but he is getting information from them. He knows about the boys and that they are sleeping on the top floor. He also knows that they are hanging out in town a lot and spending a lot of time out of the house. Whoever it is, is watching all of you closely.” “What have they said about us?”          Trying to narrow down the amount of information will maybe help me with clues. “You have a coffee problem and that you are working on securing a plan to keep him out. You called for a meeting of the townspeople and went over every strategy to keep him out. He knows

Chapter 99- Elnora POV          I met Lawler in a depressing part of my life. I wanted nothing more than to get out of my marriage and was willing to do anything I could to make it happen, even cheating. I wanted to be happy, and I deserved to be satisfied. Our unique relationship was short-lived, but I loved Lawler at that time with every ounce of my soul. The day I found out I was pregnant with his child was the happiest and saddest day of my life. He was thrilled when I told him that I was pregnant. He cried tears of joy and held on to me with desperation and love.          Then something changed. He told me that he had to keep us safe. That an heir to the thrown needed to be kept safe, I needed to be kept safe. If anyone in his world found out about our baby, we would be in danger. My memories needed to be covered, and I needed to do the one thing that neither of us wanted m
