Twelixs POVI woke up early that morning, my hand instinctively reaching across the mattress for Dave. It felt unusually empty. I sat up slowly, blinking against the soft morning light filtering through the curtains. He wasn't beside me. I swung my legs over the edge of the bed and stood up, a small furrow forming between my brows. Maybe he went downstairs to get some water or check something outside. I walked out of our bedroom and down the hall, but the living room was quiet, the kitchen empty. Where could he have gone this early?Just as I was about to call out his name, the bathroom door opened, and there he was — my husband, looking a little sheepish but so wonderfully familiar."Good morning, Wifey," he said warmly, opening his arms wide. I walked straight into them, sinking into that familiar, safe embrace that always felt like home. It had become my favorite morning ritual — a hug from Dave before the day truly began. Somehow, everything always felt a little better after that.
