[Zeve’s POV]“Take them to the dungeons and interrogate them. I will show you the wrath of a devil today. Bearers of light, it’s time you meet the devils of dungeons. Take them away!” Amor growled. “I was stupid to not meddle with religion earlier. I thought it was a place I, a sinner, should not pry. But I should have looked into it. God knows how many lives of my people these bearers of light have pushed into darkness.”Most of the leaders were taken away; only three of them were still seated in the court with a serene smile on their faces. I remember they were the only ones who didn’t speak a word against me and calmly observed me sitting in the back.Talia, Leora, Bower, along with others were still in the hall.“Now, the pack of scums and liars. Give me one reason I should trust someone who is associated with the vampires? Not just that…” Amor signalled gamma Nash with his hand and gamma Nash presented the receipts to the members of the werewolf council and dukes with the proof a

[Amor’s POV] The recent events introduced me to the worst of all fears — waiting for someone to leave with an uncertainty of ever meeting again. People cry on deaths because they know they would never see the deceased ever again. There was a certainty of never meeting again in death, but this… this wasn’t death because there was hope. A hope of reuniting alongside a fear of never reuniting again. I feared sleeping, blinking, anything that would take her out of my sight. I was scared of the moment she would leave and yet all I could do was long for it. I wasn’t trying to stop her because I knew, the moment I tried to stop her forcefully, I would turn into a monster, and that was the last thing I wanted to be to her. Even if it was in the slightest of her memories, in some corner of her heart, I wanted her to love me. Whenever she thought of love, I wanted her to remember Amor. On the ribbon of Zeve’s rose, in every Black Light festival, I wanted Amor to be the only name beside h

[Amor’s POV]“You said if we knew where your Katana was?” One of them stood on her palm and looked at her, lifting his head.Zeve nodded.“Well, we are your Katana. I remember your scent. It was your blood that awakened us.”“I don’t understand,” Zeve said, tensing her brows.“We feel the same scent from him too…” the three fairies glued to my chest said together in a dreamy voice as they snuggled against my sternum. It literally gave me chills down my spine.“Don’t lie. The three of you are all over him because he is handsome.” The sleepy one said and fell asleep again.Zeve held the three of them by their wings and tore them off my chest.Zeve’s eyes glowed as she said, “don’t ever touch him again or I will break your wings…” her voice was hoarse. Ria!The three fairies flinched at her words.Thank God! Ria to the rescue. I love you Ria!“Who are you guys?” Zeve’s glowing silver eyes turned to normal and so did her voice.“We are dragon fairies. Simply put, we are the blood cells o

[Zeve’s POV]The otherwise gloomy sky looked gloomier that day as I peered out of the silent hospital balcony. The dark clouds hovered in the sky as if they were determined to block even the grey light of hope and happiness to reach our pack. The precinct of the hospital was silent a few hours ago, but now it was filled with sobs and cries. A mother had died during childbirth. The child was healthy and alive, but he hadn’t stopped crying since he was born.Birth and death both occurred at the same time. “I told her, her weak body wouldn’t be able to handle the strain of childbirth,” her husband was sobbing, sitting helplessly beside her dead body. “She wanted to be a mother. But what is the use now? She didn’t even see her kid and left this world. It wasn’t worth it! It’s all my fault. I should have stopped her.”I wondered if her death was tragic or satisfactory because before she left this world as a mother. Since she was weak, she would die eventually anyway, she chose to die aft

[Zeve’s POV]The guards near Talia’s cell became alert. I took off my hood, and they bowed.“Open the cell,” I ordered. They did.I entered the cell. Talia was shackled with the stone walls, her hands chained to the ceiling and her feet nailed to the floor. The guards entered, and I gestured for them to leave the cell. Her hair hung over her face.“What is she?”“Who is she?”“Demon.”“Kill her.”I heard the dragon fairies speak in my head.“Talia,” I took her name. The chains jingled, and she broke out of her sleep.“You! You came…” I grabbed her mouth. All she could do was grunt and take out incoherent sounds from her throat. Her recent memories transferred to me. “So, Lynx is indeed in the Regina mountains, huh?” I left her mouth, pushing her back as I stood at a safe distance from her.“Free me!” she said, as if she was entitled to order me.“Why should I?” I asked, folding my hands over my waist.“Because I can be useful to you. I can take you to the one who is behind all this…
