บททั้งหมดของ Alpha Dalton: บทที่ 51 - บทที่ 60

Cassandra’s point of view: “What happened? Why did you stop?” Lucas asked, not having seen or sensed another werewolf, an Alpha at that, ahead of us.But, I couldn’t take my eyes off Dalton. My heart skipped a beat right when his gaze met mine from across. I watched as his eyes widened at the sight of me. Shortly after, his jaw grew tensed. He glared at me, making me take a step back before taking another.I wasn't ready to face him, I realized. When I made no such move to close the distance between us, Dalton stormed towards me making me take several steps back. It was then that Lucas saw him approaching us. "Who is he? Do you know him? Why is he looking at you like that? Is he the man you've been searching?" Lucas bombarded me with questions."No, he's my Alpha." That was all I needed to say for Lucas to step out of Dalton's way. Every werewolf knows that coming in between a furious Alpha and his pack member when you were not part of the pack meant direct death. And, Lucas was

Cassandra's point of view:"I'm not mocking you." Dalton refuted as he turned the torch light off, letting the dark forest engulf us in total darkness. "You are," I argued back, staring right at him through the darkness. "I'm not." He shook his head, shrugging nonchalantly.I bit back a cry when the branch shook with his actions. "Don't move!" I ordered him.His eyes widened in disbelief, looking quite shocked that I had dared ordered him to stop moving. He opened his mouth to say something when a noise from the bushes down there disrupted our banter. I knew better than to say or ask anything. 'Marcus.' The voice within me alerted me of his presence. I held Dalton's arm to get his attention. Once our eyes met, I mouthed, 'It's Marcus.' It seemed like he had to force his eyes to focus on my face. 'I know,' he mouthed back, having already sensed him too. 'What do we do?' I mind-linked him. 'Stay still,' he held my hand and together, we looked down. It wasn't hard for me to locat

Cassandra's point of view: After taking some more rounds of the dark forest searching for Marcus, we had given up. "He like completely disappeared!" Jordan exclaimed, breathing hard. Everyone was pretty much exhausted. "We need to go back to the pack. Rowan needs medical help. He's still unconscious." The warrior holding Rowan upright said. "It's nearing dawn. If we search the forest once the sun is up, we might at least get a hint in which direction Marcus might have gone." The other pack scout suggested. He did have a point. It would be much easier to search through such wild woods during day time. "Then, take Rowan and Cassandra back to the pack." Dalton ordered the warrior who had been carrying Rowan. I opened my mouth to disagree with his decision when he threw me a glare. I pursed my lips and crossed my arms across my chest. "You guys, come with me." Dalton gestured at Jordan and the rest of the guys to follow him. "What about me? Do you still need me to show you around

Cassandra’s point of view: Reaching out for us with his long arms, he was a couple of steps away from us when his steps faltered. I quickly pulled Lucas back when the zombie’s claws swung through the air, barely missing Lucas’s face. If I hadn’t pulled him, he would have gotten some pretty ugly gashes on his right cheek. Angling his face in a weird way, he stared at us like he could see us but that wasn’t the case. He could just sense us… or should I say hear us? I motioned at Lucas to stay still as I tightened my hold on his collar. Sniffing the air, the zombie’s head tilted downwards. He had scented Marcus’s blood. Taking a step closer, he perched down with his mouth opening wider the closer he got to Marcus. His venom like saliva kept dripping down on Marcus. I made a face at the sight of it… and at the stagnant stench that filled the air. ‘You’re so dead, Marcus! I thought, holding my breath as I watched him leaning closer to his unconscious body, sniffing him. Unlike me,

Dalton’s point of view: “That fucking scoundrel!” Punching the table out of anger, I cursed out. Lucas who’d been lost in his own thoughts, jumped, taken aback by my sudden outburst. “What do we do?” Cassandra’s soft voice helped calmed the anger coursing through me. “Question him until he’d admit that he was the one who helped Marcus escape.” Standing up with a sigh, I held up my hands, intertwined my fingers, and shook my head. “What was his motive though?” She asked, seemingly already thinking about it. “I don’t know. He wasn’t Marcus’s friend. Marcus might have manipulated him or something.” I shrugged. I knew Marcus well. He would go to any extent just to have his way. She raised her eyebrows in surprise but her pursed lips showed her disapprovement at the thought of Marcus manipulating someone just to have his way. “Then, will he be punished even if Marcus manipulated him?” “Manipulated or not, he did commit a crime for helping Marcus escape.” I declared firmly, leaving
