CHAPTER FIFTY ONE - NOSTALGIC BETRAYALTHE LYCAN CITY. SACRED FORESTVALERIEAs if sitting with my legs crossed for hours was not enough, Reila still insisted that I keep as still possible and focus on the inner voice that resided in me.Reila listened intensively as I narrated the routines I had been put through and I did not expect the long frowned that dropped her face when I finished.“What?!” I asked, getting irritated as this was not working out either and the sun was mercilessly beating on my back and nape.“Valerie… those routines, they aren’t to help you shift, rather they are to lock up your wolf.”I did not understand what she had said, ‘lock up my wolf?’Had my father hired an instructor that did the opposite, and instead of helping me shift, ensured I never did.**********The ride home was short, my mate made his attempts at a reconciliation but I was still too pissed to consider his apologies. He had been with the very woman that was constantly reminding herself to me,

THE LYCAN CITY. SACRED FORESTALPHA LUKKAR“What do you mean? I came here to get you… you’ve been gone for so long I—”“Gone?!” She bellowed, “I left the castle because I couldn’t stand you!” She screamed again.I jumped down from my stallion, walking up to her.“What do you mean? It’s not safe for you out here, you know that… you’re my Queen and it got so late I was worried…” My voice was bold and soft but that didn’t sway the anger from her face.“Safe? Tell me what’s dangerous about being here?” She poked me in the chest, her face a mere inch away from mine and I had never seen her so enraged it almost made me fear for my own safety and she looked like a totally different person.“Why does it always have to complicated with you?” I said between grit teeth, my own anger beginning to boil up my blood.“Comparing me with that red head bitch of yours now are we?!” She was small but her voice was more powerful than the full force of my aura.“Red head? Ugh..!” I pressed my fingers to th

THE LYCAN CITY. HIDDEN WOODS. PAPA’S OFFICEFUGITIVE DERONSylria ransacked the Papa’s office. I wearily kept watch at the door, peering out at the hall way.The cracks came again, this time even louder than before and I was surprised at how composed Sylria was even as we were both put on the edge.My mind racing and my palms got sweaty but I tried to keep myself calm. The girl so far hadn’t disappointed, she must know what she was doing. We’d get out of here before the guards get in! I told myself, closing my eyes and repeating the words in my head so many times that I believed it.“Got it!” She exclaimed rather loudly but I was sure that was the least of the guards worries, they were too busy working through the series of locks on the metal door I supposed.“Check for a Valerie Mo'monte!” I almost screamed it.The cracks turned to loud jams and I felt the walls vibrate from the impact of whatever brute force they were intending to use to invade and storm us out.“Found anything?” Th

THE LYCAN CITY. HIDDEN WOODSFUGITIVE DERON“After that he took I and Nelma to where he lay the bodies of the Hunters that killed my parents—”“Wait wait wait! A strange bleeding man says he knows you and you followed?!”She hissed. “That’s not the point! By the way we were kids, we knew nothing, we were scared as hell and then we were being told that our parents had been killed, there little we could do than to go with him even if we didn’t trust him. It’s not like he harmed us in any way.”**********We waited till we were sure the guards were convinced there was nobody in the Papa’s cabin. I could see the toll using perfect balance took on Sylria, she sat beside me leaning on the rough back of a tree and she didn’t mind resting her head on my shoulder.“I didn’t know it was stressful…”“Not stressful..!” Her voice was rasp and tired. “It could kill you!”“Whah? But Trackers—”“Trackers usually hibernate after entering the perfect balance too long, if they do as much as just stay aw

THE LYCAN CITY. HIDDEN WOODSFUGITIVE DERONI retired to my cabin that night, holding the Track to my chest while I lay on my bed. Just being with the piece of paper made me feel closer to her. If she was in this kingdom I would for sure find her.Cool droplets of water washed me down and I lathered my hair to remove bits of sand and dirt that may have gotten stuck in it from the time I had been in the forest. I changed into a brown button down short sleeve that was very comfortable and a pair of black pants. Shaking my head I pushed away the emotions I could feel myself start to develop for Sylria to the back of my mind, I could let any distractions impeded me from my mission. When morning came I only knew I had fell asleep because someone tapped their fingers against the side of my face. I caught her tiny wrists before she could tap my cheek again, my vision was blurry but I could clearly make out the the spongy mass of Sylria’s hair. How did she even get in here? Hadn’t I locked th
