She tried to get in and join him in the elevator but he pushed her off, fixing her a tight glare he closed the doors and to her astonishment the elevator went up without her getting in. "What in the world—" she muttered a breath, moping at the door as the whole thing still looked amusing to her. "Pfft… what's with him anyways?" She scoffed and walked to the next elevator."Good morning Miss Dana," Sydney greated and she threw her a smile, "morning Sydney, you look–" she paused and Sydney cornered her eyes at her."Fine?" She chuckled and Miss Dana nodded. "Something like that" Miss Dana mused and Sydney cut her an eye before fading into her department.Immediately she was coming in James was heading out, "attend to the files on your desk" he said mindlessly and rushed out. "You better join me if you don't want to have my smell on you." He shouted to her and Sydney joined him on the realization of that.Sydney had finished dressing up but Jaxton was holding her back. She glanced at the time and scoffed at seeing that he was still struggling with his tie. Not wanting to waste another minute waiting for him to knot his tie she decided to help him with it."See, simple." She smiled as she slipped the tie into his shirt. Chapter 35As cold as ice, pale as death was the frown lurking on Paxton's face. He stood at the hallway, peeking through the window, taking long glances at Sydney as she stuttered back to her chair. He saw her pick her phone up and leaned further watching her face, she had picked up her phone but dropped it the instant she noticed him.Seeing that he was causing her discomfort he left after a while."Hahh.." Sydney sighed in relief as he advanced into the hallway. She made sure he was out of sight before proceeding to call Jaxton back. The phone was on dial and rang for a few seconds before the baritone voice of Jaxton came on. "Though you misplaced your phone, you won't possibly deny not seeing my calls cause I know you're with your phone." He said levely. She couldn't still fathom why Paxton would call her in and pour his hot coffee on her when she didn't slack on her duties. However, she managed to keep her mouth shut, swallowing the pains as they came.Paxton relaxed on his chair and looked at her from there, his raving temper had died down and felt calm after using Sydney to quench that anger. He didn't like what he did nor hate it, he enjoyed seeing her suffer and that just made him smile."Too tasteless, get me another coffee" he ordered, glaring at him from where he sat.She nodded and skittered out, as she made his coffee a lot of thoughts clouded her mind. Paxton must be so mad at her even without her doing nothing, he just hates her naturally hiding under the disguise of her trying to ruin his brother.Pfft… this was getting harder than she had imagined. She finished making the coffee and went to serve him, as she placed the coffee on his desk she caught
