George returned to meet Felix with Evander and Simon. Simon was a noble who also sat with the king in the chamber of meetings. Although he held no serious position like Evander or Felix, the king still held him up in high esteem. He was more or less considered the doctor of all the wolves and yet he never treated anyone else but the king and Felix, but only once in a while."Felix, I heard your urgent call. What happened?" Simon asked as soon as he entered the chamber. He found Felix seated in the head seat where the king usually sat. "Where is Calhoun?""Calhoun is ill," Felix answered. "And it's an illness I have never heard of or seen in my life.""What?" Evander exclaimed. "What happened to him? What does it look like?""I was hoping Simon could shed some light on it," Felix said, gesturing to the king's bedroom. The other two men found their way into the room to see Calhoun sleeping peacefully in his bed. It was a rare sight that no one ever saw. Calhoun slept with no expressio

Diana had been quiet mostly. She never used to speak again. Nobody knew what transpired that night when Jasyn had rushed into her dorm. By the time Theodore and his friend had arrived, Jasyn was lying unconscious on the floor, leaning half of his body on the wall. They stared at Diana who sat on the bed, curled up with a bullied expression on her face. Theodore was trying to understand what had happened, or what was most likely to have happened. Nothing seemed to come to his mind."Are you okay?" He finally asked, his voice was very soft and it touched Diana's heart in the tiniest way. She stared into his eyes and she began to sob quietly. Theodore turned to his friend, and the man nodded. He went and grabbed Jasyn's body from the floor and took him out. He was careful to be discreet enough to prevent anyone from seeing since he wouldn't want to spark any wrong reactions from the other soldiers.Theodore closed the door softly and locked it. He went over to where Diana sat, with her l

Thomas waited for the sting of the viper to come but it never came. Instead, it kept hissing in his coat. He got up from the ground, wincing slightly. The snake had vanished from his coat and he became afraid. He quickly ran out of the dungeon.George and Simon were loitering around the place, and when they saw him coming out, they stopped him."What were you doing in the dungeon?" Simon asked warily.Thomas stared at the man for a full minute, in an eerie silence. "Sightseeing.""Sightseeing?" Simon scoffed. "What kind of sight do you wish to see in the dungeon? That place is ground zero for everything gore and disgusting.""That's exactly what I wanted to see." Thomas said. "allow me to return to my room, I think I might have seen something more than I can hold.""Something like what?" Simon probed. He wanted anything at all which he could use to hold the man as a prisoner or at least, send him away from the castle. Thomas ignored the question and continued his slow walk toward the

It had been two weeks. Two weeks since Diana joined the army and now they were preparing for war. She had been so busy with the preparation that she had forgotten all about Calhoun. The first week was very tough for her, she was the target of a woman who thinks she has eyes on her man. The idea still sounded amusing to Diana, appalling even."D! Hurry up and let's head out," Julitta called. "You have been sitting in the same position ever since, do you think you can perhaps try getting up?""Haha, very funny," Diana muttered. "I'm just worried about Coco." Julitta rolled her eyes. "Coco is safe. He will be at the campgrounds with us, just not with you.""Also, did you know that Jasyn is planning to have you fight up front?"Diana scowled. "That shameless beast.""You could say that..." Julitta laughed."I wonder what could be so funny to you both." Came Yolanda's snappy voice. "Oh wait, since you both are bitches, I bet everything sounds funny."Diana ignored her, tapping Julitta to

Thomas's expression was skeptical. What did they mean by he had just killed an Alpha? Was he supposed to just allow Yara to brag about how he was going to kill Calhoun and take over the throne? He couldn't sit and do nothing, he had to do something. And he did the first thing that came into his mind. He knew that stabbing Yara was never going to be enough, so he had to lace the dagger with a corrosive werewolf poison, so even if Yara ever survived it, he will never be able to transform into his wolf form or shapeshift again. He will survive and become like a regular human."What do you mean?" He finally asked, voicing out his concern and confusion. "I did kill the enemy, what else was I supposed to do?""Thomas, you killed an Alpha," Evander said. "Two things are involved here.""Which and which?" Thomas asked.Felix hummed. "We might have to await the waking of Calhoun to determine what it's going to be. Being the one who killed the Alpha, you have the right to become the new Alpha
