CHAPTER 11

Nora wasn't prepared to leave. She had been trapped in that basement for over a month because of a rash decision that she had made on a wim.She wanted to tell herself that she felt bad or that she regretted it but the truth was that she didn't. Zoran had been playing with the ends of the people for far too long. And it was time for them to take charge. They were being brainwashed and they hadn't even realized it yet.The only downside was that now she was the only one with any power left in the pack. She was the only one who could descend them as weas heal. She had been taught by the greatest healer in the land and that was her father. She knew most of what he did and much more because she had gotten control of the orb and now it was up to her to gain control of things. She made her way out of her small hut that was positioned in the corner of the land. She could feel their intimidating gazes on her as they made their way through. She could also hear their loud growls coming from all around her.“Don't listen to them. They can't hurt you.” The Beta said to her. She nodded her head at him in response but she wasn't sure about the truth of his words.“Nora is our honored guest and I will implore you to show her some respect.” She heard his voice echo as they came to a stop at the edge of the training area. She watched them scarf as they looked at her with seep glares. “Respect. You speak of respect we should show to those freaks." one spat and before they could react a glass bottle was thrown at her. She was still weak and disoriented and so did not have enough time to dodge it.It shattered on her toes causing her to cry out. The beta placed her behind him instinctively as he bared his teeth. “The next person to say a word I will not hesitate to slit your throat. Adan takes Sinn to the dungeons' '. His words echoed through the room like an arrow that had pierced the silence. Nora had always had a very funny feeling about love. She would call what she had a love hate relationship. She wasn't one who knew what it would be like to be loved by someone who wasn't her father and she had never thought that she would find someone who would be able or willing to care about her in such a way.She had heard the legend of mates. They were set to be partners that were made and destined for you. Someone that was a half of your soul thatHad been torn away from you. She wasn't one to believe entirely in fairytales and for her the thought of having a mate was one of the largest fairytales of allFor witches they never got the chance to have someone picked for them by god except for the few that were able to get linked to other species. In Fact they found the tphohfhy fickle and thought it to be for those who were shallow minded. It was quite ironic to say the least when she looked back at it n

They made their way out and down as she felt her mind continue to real as the thought back to every thing that had happened. It was most economical to think about it but she could sense that the alpna wasn't entirely telling the truth. They made their way back down the other end of the hall as they passed another set of double doors. It had the words alpha changers written on the top and she raised her eyebrow when she noticed the beta pull open the door opposite air. He seemed to notice her reaction as he gave her a slight wink. “Don't worry you will thank me for this later.” He said to her with a grin. Well I could say anything to him in response he pulled open the door handle as they were both ushered inside of the room. She took a moment to take in the sight before her. “Well I am going to apologize to you for the alpha. He is stupid for thinking that he can put you aside and choose that woman instead. He is going to get you away and he will regret it. I promise you that. You jus

Nora was used to being bullied. She had long gotten used to people whispering things about her but she was never one to be intimidated by other slooks. She considered herself to be very beautiful and with everything she had gone through she thought that she was one of the best. But now as she stared at the beautiful woman in front of her who pressed her palm against her swollen belly and stared at her with a deep glare she couldn't help but feel a slight tinge of jealousy. “Well can someone tell me what is happening.” She said to them. Nora watched as the Alpha cleared his throat before pulling away from her as he ran a hand through his hair. He recoiled as though his skin burned. He moved towards his mate, placing a kiss on her forehead and rubbing a gentle hand on her swollen belly.Nora was enraged by the sight as she felt a wave of anger come over her. “Well this is the new healer that I got you. She is going to ensure that you and the twins are both healthy and that you're abl

She said to him firly. He let out a sigh from his lips as he gave her a smile. “Alright I will do that but only on one condition and that is the condition that you call me Trent.” He said. She smiled at him glad to see that he was trying to make her feel comfortable as well. “I am good. they can be civil and have a normal conversation now.” He said to her with a grin. He was surprised when he sat next to her.“So are you ready for us to head out?” He asked her and she looked at him in confusion. “To wher

The Alpha let out a growl as he banged his fist against the table. Nora wasn't entirely sure what the reason for him getting riled up was. “The next time that you speak another word about it then I will have no bother in slitting your throat," he warned her. Nora stared between the two of them as she waited to see if she would dare to say anything that would defy him but to her surprise she remained quiet except for the slug look that was on her face.Nora was relieved when the lunch carried on without much bother. She was even more surprised when one of the surfers came over and handed her a salad dish. It was a kind gesture and she made her gaze fall over to the Alpha. He wasn't staring at her but she could see a slight look of concern that was plastered on his features.“Well this is new.” She heard Trent say from beside her and she looked towards him in question not understanding fully what he was referring to.“I didn't think that you would be a vegetarian. The rest of the walk that was to the clinic was mostly silent as everyone seemed to be lost in their own thoughts. She could see the gears in the Alphas head turning but she didn't want to ask the reason why. She was already on a bad note with him and the last thing that she wanted to do was for her to make things worse. They made their way through the pack as they passed a playground. The laughter of children surrounded them on both sides and she couldn't help but smile at the sight of it as she felt her heart warm up.She wasn't used to seeing sights that were quite like this back on the coven. Most of the people preferred to keep to themselves and there are very few times when people had deep interactions with one another. They did spot playgrounds because they were essentially their own children's entertainment. She sensed them stop and she realized that she must have gotten distracted in her own thoughts. “Keep it moving, I don't need you to get distracted or anything.” The Alpha

It was times like these that she appreciated the life that they had for herself and she knew that she was lucky to be able to live that way.She was particularly fond of two kids in particular and those were Elizatbeth and Oscar. They were both six years old and they made sure to tell her that they were the best of friends. They had been cautious about her at fi

He was breathing heavily and she couldn't help but inhale as she swallowed the lump that was deep in her throat. He came over towards her as he squeezed her arms. “The problem is that you have only been here for two days and you are already getting the last nerves. I have been unable to think clearly and you infuriate me at every chance you get. And despite that you seem to have my beta wrapped around your finger.” He hissed. She gulped as she tried to look away from him but he wouldn't let her as she looked at him. “I am sorry?” She asked in question.“That is the problem, actually you're not sorry. You know fully well what you are doing and you don't even seem to care." he roared. She whimpered slightly but even felt her body freeze as he leaned into her. She stared at him and noticed his eyes shift between the color red and blue and she could tell then that he was trying to restrain his wolf. She gulped as she sucked in a deep breath. She could feel his breath against her cheek.
