Lyra's POVI laid down on the floor where I had been defiled by the man in whose custody I had found myself. I could not move, I could not think, I was sue that breathing if not a natural thing for a human, I would've completely forgotten how to do it.I heard his footsteps as he went around looking for his shirt that he had tossed away during the whole ordeal. I felt a numbness around my wrist, it was where he had held me down with so much strength that blood was unable to flow through them.He stopped walking in front of me, went down as he squatted, his hands found my jaw and he brought it up so my eyes could see him.He had a quizzical look on his face that disgusted me."Why are you acting like you didn't want it? And even if you didn't want it, you can't tell me that you hated it. Wasnt that the best you've ever had?" He asked me."Are you gonna tell me that Asher performs better than I do?"I couldn't even move, I couldn't maintain the eye contact he so desperately wanted me to

Lyra's POVI couldn't tell exactly how many days had passed since the ordeal. So many meals came in, so many suns passed the sky, so many moons but I was unable to process anything.I stayed on the cold floor for days, my life was flashing before my eyes, I was wishing for the days where I was totally oblivious of the pain that was coursing through me. I desperately wanted to be brought back to the time when my life isn't as complicated as it is right now. Some time ago, the exact time was unknown, but a girl had come to get me cleaned up, which made me believe that Tristan was on his way to see me.I knew it surely wouldn't bode well for me because Tristan was after my happiness and everything that had to do with me.He wanted me to be clean enough so that he could come see me. He didn't want to touch someone so dirty, so disgusting.Suddenly the gates opened and just like I thought, he stood there and this time, he even came prepared. He was shirtless, wearing only a pair of sweatpa

Asher's POVPhilip looked at her weirdly, as if trying to grasp an understanding of what she was meaning to tell him. He had his eyebrows furrowed and his lips slightly parted, staring at her, lost in his confusion. On the other hand, Catherina had a stern gaze, the same gaze she had maintained when conversing with Philip. The hatred shce bad for him emanated from her, jt was clear to me especially that she gave no fuck about Philip and knowing Philip and how smart he was, there was no way that he didn't know this fact.He looked at me, his eyes begging me for an explanation for what she had just said to him. I didn't know what to say though, I didn't know what to tell him regarding any of this.Catherina had had her investigation done and it appeared that it was upon the new found friendship with Philip that Devlin made these drastic actions. I myself have been unable to even take a moment to think about what Devlin had done. She had asked me for a divorce. I wondered if that meant t

Asher's POVI was happy to hear that she had finally agreed to send her troops to both places. To be honest, I had no idea who to trust, I wanted to believe that Philip was right but Catherina's point made lots of sense. And then there was also how easy it was for him to spot the house Tristan might be in. To tell the truth, it could be that he was lying to us about everything and that he was actually in cahoots with Tristan, and his main mission was to lead us away from the truth.I was being paranoid, granted. But this was about Lyra and I was not about to just trust anyone and anything when her safety was in the picture."So when do you people intend to go after him?" Catherina asked."As soon as possible, so tonight""Tonight?" Both Catherina and I asked in unison as we stared at the very unhinged Philip. He looked between the two of us as if we were crazy, "yes, you have the troops prepared and we have botb locations pinned, so what's stopping us from leaving tonight?"I shook my

Asher's POV The way she ran into his arms could not leave my brain. At every turn, every single thing I did, I was reminded of what had happened and how I felt so very ridiculed. Maybe she had seen me, maybe she had not seen me, but it doesn't change the fact that she had chosen to run into his arms, that she had chosen to find solace in him. I thought back to the things that I have learned about Philip these days that we were together, from his father to his training and to all the ways he was talented. I wondered if knowing all of this was going to change the way she felt about him. I had no idea how exactly she felt about him but seeing as she was willing and able to.run into his arms ignoring my complete existence then surely she must feel something for him. Maybe not love, but she had feelings. After she had jumped on him in such a hug, she passed out instantly. I figured she must've been stressed, she must've been angry or maybe she had just been completely hateful and when t
