Chapter 2FINDING A MATETop of FormMegan had longed for a mate for as long as the time that it is usual for young werewolves to find their mates. Her pack mates and family who were not already mated were finding theirs by the day.“Take your mind off it and you will find your mate”, her cousin Sandra had told her when the topic had come up between them during Sandra’s visit last fall, and Megan had expressed her concern on the matter.“I promise you will know when it happens. It’s like magic” Sandra had said basking in the reverie of when she had found her own Jack. And like magic, it was, the day Megan found her mate.Megan had thrown herself into trying to improve her abilities and skills; her training and hunting. Even then she always felt like something was missing; a sense of connection; a bond that would make her feel like she belonged. It was during one of her trainings one evening that Megan experienced something that would change her life and her perspective on things forev

Chapter 4 Wait till after Winter “Megan…”“Dad, listen to me first.” Megan quickly interrupted her father. It was either she gets it out or the words she wanted to say stays stuck in her throat forever, never seeing the daylight. “I know you are going about offering wolves from other packs, everything we have as dowry. I also know that you are not successful yet. Dad, I want you to stop doing this.” Oliver was dazed. How did she know? Who told her? But if he took the time to think about it, someone spread the news about her situation. It shouldn't be surprising if that same person was the one who told her, right? Oliver's eyes twisted with a deep hatred filled with malicious intent. “Who told you this?” He groaned. Megan shivered at the look in her father's eyes. She decided to leave her father's lap. “Dad…i, why are you so angry all of a sudden” she snorted as her eyes became teary all of a sudden. “I… I am sorry. I am not angry. Don't cry.” Oliver quickly grabbed his dau

Chapter 6: A Wedding (2)Werewolves don't essentially need weddings. Once a wolf meets its mate, and they acknowledge each other, then they are a couple. During the once in three years' Purple festival, where all wolves return from wherever they stay to come thank the Moon mother for her blessings, all the couples that are formed before the festival will be presented before the Moon mother for her blessings on the same day. Therefore, the winter weddings are for those wolves who couldn't find their fated mates. It is believed that once the pack accepts their union, the Moon mother will also accept it. After these weddings, during the Purple festivals, these newly wedded will also join the fated couples to present themselves to the Moon mother at the shrines all over the realm. The wedding is a basic occasion. After everyone had arrived, the two wolves presented themselves to the pack's shaman, who then said some incarnations before using a red rope to join them. Thereafter, they kiss

Chapter 8 :Kill Megan Williams!Eden didn't faint, but his brother had signaled to him to stay put. He probably would have done so even if Ethan didn't ask him to. While he was in Elvira's grip, he felt something very strange. Something he had only heard in history classes and read in books. He was so terrified that he didn't need anyone to ask him to stay put. So, he had pulled himself together and sat on the floor, listening to the conversation going on. When he heard the name of the target, though, he went pale. Kill Megan Williams? Megan with the father Dad fears? Is she mad?“Interesting.” Ethan squinted his eyes at Elvira. “We can't take your deal. We will be the first suspects if she dies while we are here.” “You don't have to kill her directly. Just claim and mark her. Keep her somewhere well hidden. She will be dead within 48 hours and by then, the wedding should be over. Even if they find her on time, as long as she remains unconscious, nobody will be able to identify you

Chapter 10 : The searchAs a large group of men turned into wolves and dashed into the dark night, racing into the woods with Jake at the forefront, Elvira felt dejected and alone. She looked around and saw that it was just her and their minors, with some market people remaining. She couldn't recognize those that were still around. “Let's go back.” Elvira turned to her dazed friends and they silently followed her. All of them had their thoughts about the events of the night, but none of them was brave enough to mention it. They should have been done by now… While they were walking back to the center of town, Elvira brought out her phone and tried to call Ethan. The phone rang several times, but it wasn't picked up. She then sent a message and deleted it immediately it was sent. They are not stupid. As long as they have done it and left her body where I asked them to, everything will be fine. Elvira reassured herself. There is really nothing to worry about, she mused to her anxiou
