BELLA’S POVMateo tried calling for backup to know exactly what was going on inside the house but no one was responding. He motioned with his finger for me to be quiet as we slowly walked to the back of the house. My heart was pounding in my chest. I could barely breathe. What if someone was waiting for us? To kill us.I had no idea what to expect, I was scared, I had never been in this kind of situation before. The gunshot sounds had subsided and it was suspicious, we tried to sneak in through the kitchen and saw some of Moreno's men lying dead on the floor. The sight was horrifyingI stifled a gasp, holding my hand over my mouth. Mateo sneaked into the kitchen, and I followed him, trying to stay as quiet as possible. I could hear my heart pounding in my chest.I tried to focus on Mateo's back, following his lead. His calm, collected, and steady presence was reassuring, I trusted him to get us out of this terrible situation.Suddenly I froze. There, right in front of me, was one of

BELLA’S POVI wrapped my arms around Moreno as he carried me into the bedroom, I suddenly wasn’t feeling sleepy anymore. He gently placed me on the bed and sat beside me looking at me intently.“If we ever have a daughter, I want her to have your eyes,” Moreno said shocking me.“But..you…you never….” I stammered.“Shhhh…” he placed a finger on my lips pausing my words.“Just listen to me,”He pulled me close to himself, his strong arms wrapping around me. He laid down beside me, with my head on his chest.“Just look at me,” he whispered “I know I’m a bad man, but I’m willing to change for you, you were the best thing that ever happened to me and I was too blind to notice it.” He took a deep breath and continued.“I’m a very possessive man, Isabella, I just want to have you for myself and shield you from the rest of the world,” he chuckled.“I want to be with you, I’m ready to start over on your terms, of course, we can have an actual relationship, go on dates, do whatever you want. MATEO’S POVI knew deep down that it was too soon to go to war with Alvaro but I couldn’t question Moreno’s decision. I had to trust that he knew what he was doing, he was never one to make rash decisions without a plan in mind. After our meeting to prepare for the war, I couldn’t sleep, I knew what we planned to do was very dangerous but I also knew that it was necessary. I was determined to stand by Moreno and do whatever it took to protect him.The next morning, Moreno left for the warehouse at the crack of dawn, determined to get everything ready for the impending war.He had given me strict orders to ensure that Bella was taken to the seaport, and I knew it was my duty to make sure she was safe, although I would rather go with him if I had a choice.I knew I couldn't let anything happen to her, no matter what. I would do whatever it took to keep her out of harm's way.But right now I’m torn between two decisions, take Bella to the port or follow Moreno’s orders. After I heard the

BELLA’S POVI took a deep breath as I pushed open the door to Moreno’s room. As Mateo left, he told me he left someone in charge and that I should ask him for anything I needed. I managed to respond with a nod as I couldn’t bring myself to speak. As I got into the room, Moreno was lying in bed with his eyes closed. I sat on the bed and took his hands in mine. The room was quiet except for the sound of the beating of my heart and the machines in the room. I looked at Moreno’s face, peaceful and vulnerable, as I looked at him, he seemed like a different person now. I tried to search for the man who tormented me for months but he was nowhere to be found, I couldn’t help but imagine what our life would have been like if we had not meet the way we did. I took his free hand and placed it against my cheek, feeling the coolness of his skin against mine. I hoped that he could feel the warmth of my body, and know that I was there with him. I wished he could understand how much he meant to me,

Moreno’s POV“The fuck did you just say?” I asked her, I was extremely pissed. I grabbed her by her hair so she was facing me and I tightened the grip on her hair, she was in pain, but I didn’t care, that was exactly what I wanted her to feel. I looked at her face which was filled with tears and I kicked the chair she was tied on so she was thrown to the floor. “You’re fucking kidding me right?” I asked as I pulled her up by her hair again, and she shook her head. “Please spare me,” she begged.“Do you think you have any right to tell me to spare you, you worthless piece of shit,” I said looking at her, my voice shaking with anger. I don’t know what was holding me back from hitting her but I knew the restraint was quickly slipping away. I looked at her one more time and then I stormed out of the warehouse, I wanted to go get a drink to calm down, but I remembered that I promised Bella that I would come back to her. I got to the car and told Antonio to drive me home. When I got home,
