JOJO'S POV The last 24 hours have been a shit show inside a freaking rollercoaster. First of all, Mallory somehow convinced me to seek out Vongov, grab his phone, and install some bug she created on it. “Why do I have to do it?” She gave me a look, “Seriously, Jo?” “I thought avoiding him was the new MO until we found a weakness.” “This is the way to find that weakness Jo, now suck up, and do your part to make this thing work.” That was all the scolding I needed. I ended up in a gym, snooping through his stuff while he showered. Before I could return his phone—which took longer than expected because I'm no tech wiz— he was gone. I had to chase the asshole halfway to CrispFries and immediately regretted it. I should've reported the phone as a lost and found case and left it with the receptionist or dropped it in the freaking locker room. Now, I'm here, not even 24 hours later with a loopy memory, an aching heart that won't stop hurting with every step I take, and Vongov, who I

Jeremy's POV My fist punches through my reflection and shards of glass shatter around me. Broken. Fuck! The beast clamors against my ribcage, looking for something, anything to destroy. “Need to hurt!” It screeches, clawing, bruising, biting to be let out. I need control! I stalk into the bathroom and throw open the cabinet, a small first-aid kit sits behind bottles of Oxy, Prozac, Luvox, fentanyl, Morphine, and Codeine amongst others. My hand hovers over the Morphine but I end up slamming the cabinet door. I can't give up control. I head into the room and try to bandage my injured knuckles but my hands are shaky and my head is clanging with voices. I'm on edge and my mind, it's driving me crazy. “Just take the meds and let go, Kil.” I hear my father's voice and freeze. “You're in so much pain, let me fix it.” He's looking down at me with worry. No no no! That is not my father! The voice changes and it turns soft and soothing, “You've held on for so long, Мое солнце, you'

JEREMY'S POV I developed the discipline of minding my business a long time ago but there’s an itch I need to scratch. An itch in the form of a redhead with innocent eyes and a smart mouth. I dial the only other number on my speed dial, he picks on the first ring. “How's the party?” “Who's this?” “Don't play with me, Falconer.” There's a pause. “Kila?” “It's me.” “What the hell is happening, who hijacked your phone?” “I just confirmed my identity.” “You never bother with these things, Kila, I’m just curious.” “Don't act stupid Kai, it doesn't suit you.” “The ladies don't agree.” “Arrogant prick.” “What’s that Kila, you getting jealous?” “Fuck you, I wanted to check in on the party.” “What the hell do you mean, 'check in on the party’?” “Are you ha– having any problems?” “Not… really. My bouncers are all the help I need, and if I need more muscle, Junnev's right here.” “Heard he got smacked around a lot. How's he?” “Holding up like a champ. Says he's got a headach

JEREMY'S POV She bursts into a tirade. “I've never been on a bike this high and I'm still a little buzzed and I'm scared I'll fall off, and you keep making me feel like a burden. I can leave if you’re tired, I mean, you had no problem slamming the door in my face…” She tries to stand and I immediately rev up the Harley, throwing her ass back down on the seat. She yelps and rakes her nails over my torso in a death grip to keep steady. “Shut the fuck up and hold on.” I bite out. Her fingers flatten against my stomach and I rev the Harley loudere, the machine releases a throaty growl and she lets out a little moan as her nails dig into my skin. “Mmphmm...” She murmurs in my ear. I feel her tits harden to pebbles against my back and she slowly them against me. Fuck! I gun down the lonely road, going faster as her moans get louder. Sweats dots below my lower lip as I toe the line between insanity and control. Every cell in my body demands that I stop the bike and give her what

Hyenas, ugly as they are, are my spirit animals. The rest are too generic, too fucking puny, and in line with the law of the wild to mess with big and bad. But not hyenas, they fight with lions, Cheat the cheetahs, and rumble with the elephants just to get what they want. And they get it. There's no room for fear among their ranks, only food and loyalty. Screw everything else. I send the last message to the Redhead— Jojo Dukes, is it?— of the Gone Girls crew and remove the battery from the burner phone. My time with Vongov taught me a bit about tech and tracking. The screen of my phone lights with colorful videos as I scroll through their I*******m, The Gone Girls? I snort. The name sounds like a sorry attempt at Charlie's Angels brought on by the traumatic plot holes of the main characters. Just who the hell do they think they are? Coming to my town, stealing my spotlight, trying to steal my boyfriend, and Taking my man. Yes, Jeremy Vongov is still my man. We've been togethe
