The east side of the manor was like a different manor entirely to Leslie. Sure, it was grand, beautiful, and spoke of such wealth that normal people could only dream about and wish for throughout their lives. Yet there was something missing—”probably humanity”, Leslie thought. It totally reminded her of how the west wing looked before she added her personal touch to it. It felt too impersonal and totally unwelcoming.A tall middle-aged lady in a maid's uniform with a tight bun and lips set in a hard line came up to Leslie and bowed slightly. "Hello, young miss. I'm Edna. Follow me, the madam awaits you in the sunroom." She didn't even give Leslie a chance to respond and turned around, leading the way."Okayyy," Leslie thought to herself and hurriedly followed the woman. The sunroom was so spacious and beautiful. Huge plush white settees were sprawled about, and the beautiful evening glow of the sun cast a warm light in the room. The huge wall-like windows gave a terrific view of the w

Julian watched intently as Leslie walked towards him in a light blue halter top and black capri pants, the soft fabric giving a beautiful contrast to her fair skin. He felt his breath catch in his throat. Was she always this gorgeous? He thought to himself, taking her in as she walked towards the table. She gave him a shy smile and asked, “You haven’t eaten yet?”“No, uh… I was caught up in an important phone call, so I came down late.”“Oh, okay,” Leslie said simply and started eating, missing the side-eye Kris, who was serving the food, gave Julian. That was a terrible lie; he’d come down for breakfast very early but had been waiting for her. When she refused to come down, he went upstairs to look for her himself. He wasn’t so sure why he was acting like a complete teenager when it came to this woman. She evoked emotions in him that he’d never felt before, and it scared him a little. His mind went back to the incident a few minutes ago. He’d never felt so much anger over a person’s f

Leslie, realizing their sudden closeness, quickly separated from Julian and looked forward in the direction of the voice. Julian irritably looked for the owner of the voice too, his brows widening slightly when he saw that they belonged to a middle-aged man in khakis and an orange long-sleeved shirt, a big grin on his face as he strode towards Leslie."There you are, my mentee!" Leslie groaned playfully while grinning as she was enveloped in a hug."Arthur, I told you not to call me that. It sounds weird." She giggled reveling in the warm hug of the man. Arthur laughed out loud. "Since I'm your mentor, it's only fair that I call you mentee, isn't it?"Leslie gave him a pointed look and he yielded. "Oh, alright, fine. I'll call you whatever you want. Glad you could make it," Arthur said with a wide smile. He looked up and his eyes met Julian's. "Oh my, who's this handsome young fellow? Leslie, your boyfriend?" He asked mirroring Kiki's exact words. Julian walked towards him briskly a

Leslie snapped out of her sleep-laden trance at the sound of the husky voice. Her head throbbed as she opened her eyes, adjusting them to the light. She looked up and saw Julian smirking down at her. Her eyes widened as she looked down at her hands clutching tightly onto his bicep, and she gasped."Are you a bunny, Leslie?" Julian asked again, his tone carrying a hint of teasing. "You keep trying to burrow into me like you're digging for something you lost."Leslie's face couldn't be any redder. She quickly scooted out of his embrace. "This... I... how did I get here?" she asked, confused."Really, Leslie? You've forgotten what happened last night?" Julian said and chuckled.Leslie held onto her head. "Ugh, did I get run over by a bus or something? Why does my head feel so heavy?" she complained, rubbing her head. Then her movement paused. She looked up at Julian, her eyes widening."Did... did you just call me by my name, Mr. Blackwoo-""Julian. Call me Julian, Leslie. It’s only fair

*Flashback to the day Jane was set free*"Now that the old fool is handled, what should we do with her, Red?" A man with spiky green hair and a botched-up nose asked."Shut up, Rocky. Don't spew nonsense in front of her," another man with a bald head and a red-dyed chest-length beard bit out irritably."Okay, okay, sheesh. But you know she can't hear us, right? She passed out from the whipping I gave her," Rocky said and smugly patted his chest.Red rolled his eyes at him. "I told you not to whip her so much. The boss says he wants her unharmed.""But she's so stubborn! I just want to whip the stubbornness out of that delicious body of hers," Rocky snickered. "Anyways, he also didn't say what he wants us to do to her. I received a text from him earlier. He said we should dispose of her.""I have a plan," Rocky said, his eyes lighting up."Your ideas are always terrible, man," Red snickered, rolling his eyes again."Ugh, listen first before you roll your eyes like a teen girl. You kno
