Bella:I placed my head in my palms, trying to process what Hazel had said about the test, but the ache in my head wouldn’t let me concentrate, and I had barely gone over what I had read.“Take a deep breath, Bella. I am sure you will get over it. Just…”“Let me be!” I breathed, and Hazel kept mute, looking at me, then she walked back to her bed, quietly grabbing her bag.“Hazel, I didn’t mean it, I am just…”“I understand, and it is fine,” she replied, then she walked towards the door. “I will try to save food at the cafe.”With that, she left. I groaned loudly, slapping my head, which hurt so badly that I had to stand up to get an aspirin from my drawer. After I had taken it, I rushed to the bathroom, hurriedly getting dressed. Then I grabbed my books, flipping through them in a hurry, trying to grasp as much as I could. After a while, I rushed out of the room to catch Hazel, who was just at the entrance of the class building.“Good, you made it on time,” she said, scrutinizing my o

Third person Pov:Ryder had retreated to one of his father’s apartments, desperately trying to erase the ugly look on Bella’s face from his memory. She had been the one who understood his pain, and the moments he shared with her made it all seem to vanish, but now she was gone. The hurt was immeasurable, and he wanted it to stop. When he couldn’t stop thinking about the pain, he jerked up from bed and grabbed his keys.He made his way to the elevator, and as soon as it slid open, he got in, resting his back against the wall. The moment it came to a halt, he walked out as fast as he could, got into his car, and zoomed off.It was nighttime, and he was supposed to be asleep like any other teenager, but he was roaming the streets of the Frost Pack, seeking something to calm his mind. The cool evening air offered no solace, so he stepped on the gas, speeding down the highway until he spotted a house with neon lights.Abruptly, he stopped his car at a T-junction, turning left towards the l

Bella’s POV:The four of us left for the apartment, and silently, I prayed Ryder would be fine. I tried to block out the gory images clouding my head, picturing the things that could have happened to him. I believed he was okay, and it would be nothing severe, but I was just fooling myself because I could feel it in my chest. When we arrived at the tall glass building stretching far into the sky, the twins handed me a card key.“The apartment is the penthouse,” they said, and I nodded, opening the door. Hazel grabbed my hand, giving me a reassuring smile. I got out and headed towards the sliding doors.I made my way straight to the elevator, pressing the button that led to the penthouse. When it stopped and the doors slid open, my chest thumped as I walked into the hallway leading to the front door. I slid the card on the lock and swallowed hard, waiting for the door to open. What lay behind was what I had dreaded. There, on the floor, Ryder lay hopelessly with bloodied clothes, makin

Bella:Secretly compelling Ryder to do what I wanted by fooling Fae into thinking he was on her side was my only shot at getting rid of her. The first thing I did at the rising of the sun was pray to the moon goddess, hoping my plan would go smoothly, because that was the only way I could exist in peace with my mates at the school. As I sat at the cafe table with Hazel beside me, I stared at Ryder and Fae, who were a few tables away, and watched her put her hands all over him.“You have barely touched your food, and it’s bothering me. You all are mates, but he is an asshole, and you have two against one,” Hazel said. I forced a smile, picked at my meat, and then looked up again as I took a bite.‘How long will this take? I am losing my patience with her, and I want her off my body.’ I heard Ryder speak, and I widened my eyes, pausing with my fork of meat hanging close to my lips.‘Did I just hear you speak or…?’‘Bella, we have fulfilled the mating ritual and are fully connected. I do

Third Person POV:The game had everyone on the edge of their seats, and Bella’s heart raced each time Ryder faced an opponent. Even though he was skilled, she couldn’t bear the thought of him getting hurt. The entire time, Hazel wore a bright smile, cheering and booing at the right moments.“Hey, do you want to get a drink or something?” Hazel grabbed Bella’s hand, and Bella nodded, grateful for the distraction.Bella turned to inform the guys, who were deeply engrossed in the game.“Do you want us to come?” Kai asked, but Bella shook her head.“We’ll be fine.”Bella didn’t want Ryder to look up and see their seats empty. Plus, she wanted to spend time with Hazel.Hazel stood up quickly, and they made their way out of the bleachers, searching for a vending machine around the field. They found one, but as they approached it, Hazel tugged Bella’s hand, pulling her backward. They slipped behind the vending machine, hiding in an alley that led back to the school building.Bella was about
