Celeste’s POV Hores suddenly appeared looking shocked. He kicked the cauldron to the side of the room. Selene’s laugh was the first wild cackle that ricocheted off the walls as though she had been certified insane. The goblin, Hores, wheezed as he helped her up with tiny, clawed hands, patting the dust from her robe, his own laugh as unhinged. And then I was laughing too, somehow. Maybe it was how absurd the situation was, or maybe I had finally gone crazy. Either way, the laughter exploded out of me before I could contain it.
